Sergical, Glad to hear you're back to being pain free!! Might be a good time to grow some fungus? While seeds work great (sometimes). The chemical content of MM is very consistent and won't expire like seeds Keep well, and stick around, never know when sharing your experience might help someone else PFW! J

+++ CHF's mention of Oxygen. It's the #1 abortive for most of us clusterheads. Also: I'm not a fan of recommending it, because of damage to one's body. But has she tried a Prednisone taper? ie. Starting at a high dose of pred then slowly tapering it down. Prednisone is a known cycle terminating drug (but it can do serious damage to the body if on it at very high doses for very long). It can cause joint damage. Our friend on the board here Dan had a hip replacement due to pred. Again, I'm certainly not a fan of Pred, but if your wife is so bad she's in the hospital, and they're dumping every garbage med in her blood stream they might want to actually go with two of the most effective, IMHO (O2 - Abortive and Pred to stop the cycle) PFW, J

The VA had prescribed Amitriptyline to me some time back. After reading how effective it was, as compared to the LONG list of side effects (some are really really bad). I opted to dispose of it in the garbage (hind sight I hope it didn't end up in the water supply...) J

Spiny, I haven't heard from her in a Looooong time now. Bet she's keeping the PF time in her life along with her regular doses as well. J -
For me, I think 'Busting' refers to alternative treatments not sanctioned by 'the man'Â (To terminate or positively impact the duration or intensity of a cycle) J

The worst pain known to medical science... really?

I was about to post some pics, but after looking at them again. I thought they might be a little gross for some people. J -
The worst pain known to medical science... really?

MG, Quite funny actually. I had that exact situation happen to me 2 years ago. The middle and index fingers on my right hand got stuck between a dock line and cleat. It was just bad timing that I lashed and pulled to snug the line at the same time the boat pulled against the line while docking. My 2 fingers were under the line right when it tightened. I heard a few pops but was looking up and was afraid the dinghy motor housing had bumped up against the dock piling. I used my left hand to feel the back of the motor, but oddly there wasn't any damage. At that moment I realized I couldn't move my right hand. Looked down and saw my fingers pinned and being crushed by the line. I couldn't pull my hand out so I instinctively used a shoulder lunge to force pulling my hand out. Hind sight, the popping was my 2 fingers popping, like one would squeeze a grape and it pops. (only fingers are a LOT louder when crushed to that degree). Went to the emergency room. My middle finger bone was sticking out of my finger down to the first knuckle. The meat was basically peeled off the bone, and both fingernails were peeled off as well. I could feel some pain, but it really wasn't that bad at all. Compared to a CH it was maybe a 3 (out of 10). I figured it might start hurting when they got around to working on it, so I had to 'fake' the pain at a 7 (which the nurse asked me: "are you sure? Looks like it hurts worse than that. The bone is sticking out and your fingernails are gone"). ha ha... They did a nerve block, but had to do it 3 times because apparently I'm immune to the primary drug they use for nerve blocks (twice with the normal stuff, then a third time with something stronger). After the 3 nerve blocks it took the pain from a 3 down to a 2. I figured it was good enough and told them they didn't need to do it again. The doc finally comes around and tells me it's going to really hurt because he was going to force the finger 'meat' back around the bone. I look at his face when he's doing it and he's really pushing and twisting, has this sorta distorted look on his face that's sorta scary. ha, ha.. Anyway pain goes to maybe 4 for a minute while he's pushing and twisting trying to get my finger meat back around the bone (through where the fingernail use to be).. Most everything grew back together ok. The feeling just started coming back a few months ago. Yea, pain is all subject to one's experience level. :-/ Just don't drag your fingernails across a chalk board while I'm around... Not cool... J -
It's also on Netflix. I've gotten about half way through it. Pretty interesting documentary. They leave a LOT of stuff out, but it's a pretty good basic 101 on the psychedelics. J

Wow, What an awesome presentation. It took me several sessions to watch the entire thing. But... Wow. It starts out a little dry, but even the beginning has important information that intertwines throughout his presentation. Don't skip the beginning The end about his mother. Brought a tear to my eye... Highly recommend watching end to end, J

I tried as well. Get an error content not available. J

bg, Don't be too hard on the guy. His CH might be of the milder version. He might not even know how many people with CH really need help. OR, you never know he might be dosing and reading this very board from time to time, and donating, but just doesn't want anyone to know (for professional reasons). Try not to judge too hard, we all have our good and bad days. PFW, J -
Seeds my friend. Seeds. I started with HBWR 4 years ago. Never looked back. Have you tried them (Sorry, but I don't remember from your posts last year)? Fungus works miracles on CH, but HBWR / RC can be ordered off the internet and can work just as good at punting a stubborn cycle. PFW, J

DD, What a beautiful house!!! J

Bob, Definitely please let him know we're sending best wishes. Ralphs was a great place to get spores. Hoping he pulls through ok. J

Sergical, I don't mean to be a downer, but 2 things about your last posts. 1) I've both heard others, and had it happen to me. Taking a drink too early can kick you right back into full blown CH hell. Please keep away until you're PF for weeks (if not a month or two) 2) Highly recommend not mixing any chemicals. Entirely too many reports of bad experiences. I'd do one or the other, but not both. PFW, J

Spiny, They seem to be growing quite well despite my repeated attempts to kill them through neglect... On the HBWR pods: They each hold from 1 to 4 seeds. Depending on what was fertilized when the flowers were open. Last year was the first year I planted them and only had 9 seed pods on all the HBWR plants. Out of 9 pods I collected 21 seeds. So they averaged a little over 2 seeds per pod. I noticed most of the pods didn't get fertilized this year and just fell off. (some made it though!) I'm unsure what I'll do with the seeds if they start coming in, in bulk I was thinking about sending them free to anyone that wanted a few to plant Sadly from what I've read they don't do very well up north. Interesting that the RC waited till nearly January to start blooming? J

Yesterday's blooms fell off that evening and it rained last night. This morning there's even MORE blooms (and bees) than yesterday! J
-
RC decided to explode in blossoms the last few days!!! I've seen more honey bees in the yard the last 48 hours, than all the last 3 years combined. That pic is just a small spot of the entire trellis. There must be thousands of blooms. J

Sergical81, Welcome to your new life!!! The sky's the limit and beautiful days are ahead!!! So awesome to read of more and more people getting pain free time. MM = new life for us CH'ers J

HazBaz, GREAT news on getting the O2... Done right, it's our #1 go to for abortive Hopefully you can stay off the trex and get to busting this thing to the dirt! J

I guess how I view vivid dreams (for me). Is they are completely real. In color, with all senses engaged. I don't just see what's going on, but I hear, smell, taste, and feel both physically and emotionally what's happening in the dream. On several occasions after waking from a vivid dream. I have a hard time sorting out what's real or not real in my memory. For someone that's never had a vivid dream, I'm sure that's hard to understand. As an example; A few years ago I had a dream that my grandmother just passed away. I met with family, talked about how much we loved and would miss her. I went to her funeral and just after the funeral was finishing, I woke up. I had tears streaming from my eyes and had every emotion of having just been at my grandmothers funeral. The memory was just as real as I'm sitting here typing. I had a hard time emotionally that morning sorting out what was real or not real from my memory, because my grandmother had just passed and emotionally it was real. My grandmother had actually passed about 6 years earlier. I now have 2 distinct memories of her passing and funeral. Both are real and if I try to navigate my memory each one comes in to my perception / memory. Both memories are inseparable. It's like they're saved in the exact same spot in my brain. One can't be removed or discounted, because to my brain both are real. Most of my vivid dreams are about disasters. I have memories of 2 airplane crashes, and 2+ large boats sinking. Most of the time I'm an observer, but when I'm actually 'in' the incident, my memory stops at the point I die in the dream. If I'm an observer, I usually try to help. Feeling the sting of getting burned pulling someone to safety from a burning fuselage, etc. Since starting my MM dosing every other month the vivid dreams have completely stopped. (no CH either They only come approx 1 week before my CH comes back and stop within a few days of the CH starting. J

I would suspect the scraping of email addresses is being done from one of the other CH websites. I don't know if it's still available or not, but a few years ago you could go to ClusterHeadaches.com and download everyone's email address. I downloaded it and searched for people listed as living in the Tampa area. Then sent an email to everyone (trying to connect with someone else locally that has CH). I had 2 people (out of maybe 20) respond. From those 2 only one showed up for a meet / greet dinner I arranged one night. He and I had a good time chatting, but haven't spoken since. (anyway, back to the topic I just went out and looked. Yep ClusterHeadaches.com has everyone's email address listed on the site. (nice to be able to find someone locally if one wanted to). I do like having the CB site emails hidden from public view. Since we talk about very different aspects of CH treatment. (and much more effective I might add!!) J

Sergical, A threshold dose is a dose that you go just over the edge of getting psychedelic effects. Sounds like with .5 to 1g you were likely just under that threshold, and I'd bet upping the dose to 1.5 to 1.8g will do you wonders better. Don't forget the 5 days between doses. J
