Hey TiredO, I think Mystina is onto something there - if it was me I'd certainly be going for some RC seeds action ASAP (they're cheap, and could potentially be overnighted to you so you could be taking them before bed this Thursday!).

Oh Lordy the embarrassing stories are always the funniest!! ;D And animal videos can't be beat. ;D If Brew doesn't post the animal video he was handing around on his iPhone at the OUCH conference I'm going to have to post it. 8-) Thank you everybody.Â

Hey No Pain - glad yer lovin' life again. Were you in the midst of a chronic or episodic bout of CH when it stopped?
-
Aw c'mon, that blows Ron's whole 'Operation TingHitch' plan for Vegas 2012! ;D
-
I would consider having to use a mouthpiece instead of a mask to be a fine'n reasonable trade off for an econo DV. 8-)

I'm thinking it could be be described as a first choice O2 delivery system, not much of a ri$k since O2 does work for 95% or so of CH'ers. It saves the intermediate cost/hassle of a lesser system (where most of us end up stuck if we have purchased one), saves on O2 refill costs/preserves supply, potentially paying for itself over time, and cuts the risk of the *running out of O2 on a Sunday* incidents. I find myself burning thru tanks at a helluva rate during high cycle with my crude 45+ LPM high flow regulator technology, leading the O2 supplier to start balking at more refills without specific permission from the doc, which of course is a scenario fraught with peril. And a DV can make that portable E tank in the car last twice as long (if I'm interpreting this advantage correctly from the DV users I've spoken to). Just kinda thinking out loud here before I take my opinions about a cause for a modification to the CH info over to CH.com.Â

This is the same thing I'm hearing from other CH'ers with demand valves. Clearly this advantage is priceless, no? Thanks for that link to demand valve details CHF, I now have it bookmarked and ready to fire off to others. 8-)

Thanks for the mighty fine pics Racer1 - and as always, the captions are more'n half the fun - case in point below ;D :

O2 is a good thing to try first. Who could blame him for being a doctor-phobe considering their common ineptitude when it comes to treating CH? In a pinch many CH'ers will bypass the doc and get their O2 from a welding supply place without prescription. Please tell your hub that there are a lot of serious, long time, hardcore CH'ers and supporters here - his brothers and sisters from the CH tribe for cryin' out loud - who are in no mood anymore for screwing around with toxic treatments that don't work, but many of us have found tremendous relief outside the medical establishment. Here's one for zee hubby straight from the Jeebs: "Now that you've come across this info there's no reason anymore to just sit and suffer 'til it's over" Another thing you could do immediately is order RC (Rivea Corymbosa seeds) from one of the vendors like iamshaman.com. Heck you could have them overnighted and hub could be dosing with them this Wednesday night (if he doesn't have to detox from any drugs). If the RC doesn't work, don't despair, mushrooms likely will if you can get or grow any quick enough. And I'm sure you'll continue to keep a close eye on any advice from the super helpful crew here, CHfather (Jerry), Bonkers (Ron), Pixie Elf (Mystina), and so many other illustrious members that I shouldn't have even started trying to list them . 8-)

Hey Maxx! In a cycle is a bad place place to be, that's for sure, but yes there definitely is hope! You won't be the first spouse or other supporter who has helped a CH'er tremendously by searching this place out. Hipshot and CHfather's daughter for example (there are many others) have been pretty ecstatic about their results after their thoroughly heroic supporters found this site - glad you landed here!Â

Man, that Bob's a rascal. A smooth rascal.

When I was at the July OUCH conference, The Lifegas people were saying the problem was with quantities of scale, because so far basically 2 people and 1 dog or something are expressing real interest in one. I think there could be a bigger 'demand' for them from us CH'ers if the O2 info at ch.com wasn't sort of writing demand valve systems off with a brief mention of them as Rolls Royces, with all the how to info dedicated to high flow regulators and optimasks. $350 is expensive? Well yeah OK for some of us (like me at this moment) it is, but compared to the cost of prescriptions such as imitrex or ER visits it's a huge no brainer IMO for anyone who can possibly swing it to get one. I won't be surprised if attendees of this weekend's conference will come back with some more up to date info on demand valves that will render my blabbing here obsolete. And as far as cost is concerned, I think another thing to keep in mind is we'd need significantly less O2 tank refill$, since the way it's been described to me at least, with a demand valve the O2 doesn't just blast out incessantly while you're on it - only during inhales. If someone could actually offer a cheap demand valve, that would be freekin' great IMO. 8-)

Well I went and looked at what 'ol Doc Mercola days about Omega 3 sources and I'm pasting it in here (for me to actually post something on the internet advocating animal source Omega 3's says something about how serious I consider CH to be!): "Why Animal-Based Omega-3? There are both plant and animal sources for omega-3 fats, and there are differences between them. All have different ratios of three important omega-3 fatty acids—ALA, EPA and DHA. DHA is the most important for your brain. EPA is also required by your brain, but in smaller amounts. Plant-based omega-3 sources like flax, hemp and chia seeds are high in ALA, but low in EPA and DHA. Although ALA is an essential nutrient, the key point to remember is that the conversion of ALA to the far more essential EPA and DHA is typically quite inhibited by impaired delta 6 desaturase, an enzyme necessary for you to convert the ALA into the longer chain EPA and DHA. Because of this, it is important to include animal-based sources of omega-3 fats, such as krill oil, in your diet."

There are those who steadfastly refute any trauma relation, but I've seen too many CH'ers report onset or worsening of CH following head trauma to believe it can't play a role.
-
Congrats from me too on the end of the cycle! I do go for the flax oil which is known to be loaded with Omega 3s and is good for general health in 1,000.7 ways. There may be some reason that Omegs 3's in fish oil are considered by some to be more bio-available or something than flax. I think the outspoken Dr. Mercola super self promoter and supplement seller guy may claim this to be the case, but his general credibility isn't necessarily entirely intact IMO.

Hey Jeff! SWEET about the PF since November! 8-) I haven't personally seen anything that would lead me to think scoliosis could cause CH. Here's hoping the scoliosis therapy is really successful. Definitely keep us posted.

Hey Zak, Good to see you here on the message board - and COOL that you'll be at the CB conference! 8-) You are going to be one well informed, and I bet successful cluster buster, with lotsa new CB pals.Â
-
Right on the eve of the CB conference!!?? > Leave it to Beaster. > Thank gosh there's an extremely high likelihood you'll be able to send him packing again. 8-) Or better yet - this is just an isolated rogue hit.

Bejeeber replied to Stump BeefKnob's topic in Advocacy, Events and Conferences
I'm in! out. :'( It's killin' me reading this topic, seeing who I'll be missing from this group of friends I relate to the most on this planet (various circumstances, including a sudden ill timed burst of work now after a stretch of worklessness, etc. will keep me home bound this weekend). But enuff whinin'! I'll just resolve to participate next year and will be enjoying following Ting's blog. Y'all have the greatest weekend ever! And let the rocking of the Fuster Cluckers begin. -Jeebs -
This is one of those super encouraging and inspiring reports that is a huge morale booster. Thank you Clustermom13! And I hope you are enjoying the diamond earings and necklace that Ron sent. ;D

Aughhh now THAT both sux and Bloze. > :( You could get lucky though and not have any attacks - fingers crossed that that's the case and you arrive in one piece and all hopped up on energy drinks. 8-) -
Yeah that 'imitrex math' thread Prof T just mentioned details how he's figured out a way to concoct imitrex injections for around $.50 per abort or so, which is a real attention grabber! I know everyone here including Prof T advises extreme caution if considering attempting home formulations though.

One thing I do know about this is heat is supposed to be bad for the active ingredient(s) in RC, so yep, cool down. RC is short for Rivea Corymbosa and they can be ordered legally from various suppliers such as iamshaman.com http://www.iamshaman.com/eshop/10Browse.asp

Hipshot has confided he always thought Jane Hathaway (on the Beverly Hillbillies) was a dreamboat.
