We all have invaded your thread, tucker, sorry... it got to be an informative one though. Ok, I don't know what others think, but I say if they were all floaters, you didn't get much LSA, most probably. When did you buy them? Where? Personaly, I threw away the floaters. So I'd say yes, yes, try to locate some shrooms if you can as soon as possible, and maybe order another batch of seeds. I was also expecting to be tripping with RC seeds, but haven't. Like I wrote here a little earlier, I had 175 seeds and didn't reach tripping point. I think most people if not all who bust on RC seeds do not experience tripping at all.

John Hopkins says go muncha buncha mushrooms. Now.
Purple replied to Bejeeber's topic in General Board
mixed with lots of alcohol maybe... in the news recently, there was a Canadian citizen in the death row somewhere in USA who was asking for mercy for 2 murders he and another guy coldly perpetrated, high on acid and lots of booze 35 or so years ago. So maybe it'd be the same with psilo. I remember reading about LSD and it was said the only reported very nasty outcomes was when it was mixed with lots of alcohol or other drugs. -
LOL, most evidently... I quit once for a month, and I remember those 5 first days hehe, maybe you should have started your post by : I QUIT SMOKING TODAY and I think that what you say is... ;D ;D good luck on this, are u using patches? As I confessed on a thread about marijuana, I always smoked it, even in cycle... just have to dose right, and it eases the shadows and after attacks. Oh and thanks again everyone for making me feel at home here, and you should know that it takes a very much lot more than this to get me mad at someone... in fact, I don't think I get mad at anyone ever, just maybe ignore some humans, that's all. [smiley=engel017.gif] Cheers [smiley=beer.gif]

That's cool, I wish reports on LSD experiments would be public ... I fell on this here last year as when I was bored, I searched Wikipedia. I once covered a hockey tournament in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, so I searched "Weyburn" (I was really bored at the time ^^). They had an hospital there that for, what, 20 years? did experiments with LSD, lead by Humphry Osmond who invented the word psychedelic and had supplied Aldous Huxley with his 1st dose of mescaline... I was fascinated reading these Wiki pages. I thought they had thrown all the reports in fire, I'm glad to see someone has its hands on them. And I saw an interview of Humphry Osmond on you tube, he's about 90 years old on it and I could barely understand what he was saying, but picked this up: it's not the LSD itself that cures alcoholism, but the fact that under that substance, they can visualize their nasty habit and this was all combine to a psychotherapy. This is it here I think... can't understand much what he says 'cause of the accent. Ha ;D I'm falling on this live LSD experiment now... very cool all this with 100 micrograms? wow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGVRrwL16TU'> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGVRrwL16TU "Weyburn was home to the Souris Valley Mental Health Hospital, which was closed as a health care facility and sold in 2006, and demolished in 2009. When opened in 1921, it was the largest building in The British Commonwealth and was considered on the cutting edge of experimental treatments for people with mental disabilities. The facility had a reputation of leading the way in therapeutic programming. At its peak, the facility was home to approximately 2,500 patients. Humphry Osmond http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humphry_Osmond Humphry Fortescue Osmond (1 July 1917 - 6 February 2004) was a British psychiatrist known for inventing the word psychedelic and for using psychedelic drugs in medical research. Osmond is also known for a study in the late 1950s in which he attempted to cure alcoholics with LSD, which he claimed achieved a fifty percent success rate" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Souris_Valley_Mental_Health_Hospital

Wow, very cool... This was all posted before I joined, didn't know. Sad for the loss of your house... wish we could build such a cabin up here... would need a wood stove

Thank you Cassidy. You're not wrong, I don't disagree, but I think there is more to it. My theory so far is that my lifelong need to get slightly high often, either with pot or alcohol, is related to the chemical weirdness in my head causing CH. These substances either help my mind (that's how it feels) or the chemical unbalance just calls for it for some reason... or... not sure. Well I didn't dig into it yet (I will), but I saw a report saying a high percentage of clusterheads show bad habits and drug taking, cigarette, marijuana, alcohol... I'm planning to dig onto that matter and thanks for reassuring me: I'm paranoiac, but it's normal for a clusterhead ;D ;D LOL Oh I'm feeling better today, you're right, it didn't start a new cycle after all, except I caught a cold I too feel I belong here even though I've been here not even 2 months :-* hugs everyone

Glad to hear [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I can help if needed. I also have 2 Macs over here, an older iBook with a PowerPC processor and a more recent MacBook, my son's... they run Safari though, not Opera... what is Opera? maybe my son's has Opera, IDK, I'm not used to Macs anymore. I have a meeting on saturday, not sure what time, will certainly be available at one point :-)

Might as well add this here since I think it would complete well other info in this thread: after busting successfully, no more pain at all, 2 weeks after my insurance 4th bust, I was starting to feel very subtle tickles... but mostly I wanted to experiment recreational use of my new RC seeds batch. So I did 175 RC seeds, soaked for 90 minutes in vodka and peppermint tea, to see if I would get a buzz. Even with a few joints to boost it up, it didn't feel much like a buzz... then yes, maybe it was a buzz... Definitely no visual effects. I wasn't satisfied on the tripping side and was thinking to try more the week after. That's when CH slapped back. I went to bed with a big shadow, and woke up twice with with kip 5-6, then the second time, the coffee kept me up, then another attack hit me at 11 a.m., then big shadow all day, then... Then it has been 6 days now , and it seems like I'm slipping into a new cycle. Was 175 too much? (With vodka and peppermint) Was my cycle actually never ended really? I'm I turning chronic? :o I'm waiting to see how it grows... it's been keeping me pretty much awake past 2 nights with kips 4... well it's an opportunity to test my meditation like technique to control them. It works (well lower kips anyways)... it's part of my own research on CH and hypothalamus... will report about it when the thoughts are ripe. Meanwhile I know I need more than 175 RC seeds to get to the tripping point, and maybe it wasn't such a great idea to try them recreationaly, so soon after busting anyways... can't play with that CH... no sense of humor.

Wow, I didn't know that. I'll try it out some time ;-) Amazing... same here Yep, I remember reading about that. Amazing again... same here... get a bit nuts, starts sooner...

:) ok ok 8-) Earlier, I felt for a moment I was in total confusion, and that was followed by a very dark afternoon and evening... but the cloud passed, and the black cloud (and a weird shadow) actually helped me think further into CH.... (it's all simmering in there) Absolutely good advice CHf. But since I am the one whom most will think you are referring to when you mention people PM'ing you with harsh messages, I would greatly appreciate it if you would clear this up. Everything I have said has been in the open. I certainly have not PM'ed you or anyone else about this thread. All cleared up I got just one PM, and it certainly wasn't harsh at all, thanks. I just can't resist hitting this reply button at the bottom of each thread. I didn't figure that if I was overdoing it, people would actually be PMing me, Ha ! my paranoia was that everybody was PMing about me all around or something ;D ... Well thanks everyone for the cheers, I just read back the whole thread and after all I feel this adds up to a very informative thread for any newcomer, so it looks like, after all, light does come out from confusion (yeahhh read that somewhere chaos, light...) [smiley=lolk.gif]  As Purp said, there's a danger of adding confusion on confusion here, but somebody who knows can always step in. I can only say regarding this question of yours that I have always heard that since psychedelics work on your brain, body size is not a key dosage issue. I don't know if kept the reference link (probably), but I read an anecdote about a group of scientists with white shirts taking notes around an LSD experiment on an elephant. It lasted a few minutes all together, the elephant swirled around a few times, defecated and died. They had apparently figured the dose according to the body weight difference with a human. It's the only death by LSD I read about . Think that was in the 1950's. Oh there could have been a few dead rats also I spose. Taken an elephant brain isn't that much bigger than a human's (twice?), the poor thing got an extremely massive dose... guess he died tripping. I too think it's more the brain size difference that's the reference, not the whole body, and I think our brain all weight pretty much the same as humans. Good thing to point out, Spiny, metabolism and usual response to any med I think is to be considered. One of my friend, just one Tylenol and she feels dizzy almost, every med is over efficient on her. As for the what do you do part... I think after busting 2 or 3 times (I'd say 2 if pain is too high) without any results at all, it's time to turn to something else, mushrooms, LSD, licorice... I remember reading those who mixed seeds and shrooms... Actually bb, what you say here confirms what I have read many times in different threads on shroomery.org and maybe elsewhere. The trippers either chew up their MG seeds as Arde explained he did back in the days, apparently the extraction is very successful directly in the gut, but ya gotta really chew, and I'm theorizing some LSA absorbtion is done via the mucus in the mouth, either they use a coffee grinder, and many point out that a finer grind extracts better. Problem is with RC seeds, I wasn't under the impression I could grind 60 seeds with my coffee grinder... too few. Because the trippers, they take like 500-800 MG seeds. But anyways, a finer grind looks appealing to me. There is something else I wanted to quote... Oh yeah, the Nafta part... Wow, scary stuff... but if you say it's very volatile... maybe... I guess why not. Think I'll try to sum up the content of this thread in one text, cause there is really lots of precious info here. tucker, I hope you're not over stuffed with info, that was your thread maybe I can summarize it simply: Keep on Bustin' ;D ;D

I suddenly feel I'm confusing everyone... maybe I ought to just read this board for a while and not post :-[

What do you mean, Arde? did you experience tripping? And what is NK?

I thought things were clarifying yesterday, and today I'm all confused. What does this poster say exactly? Reading it carefully got me all confused. The poster says: (for chronics): All those who ingested 1 mg or less were treatment non-responders... If 1 gram of seeds gives 0.8 mg of LSA, then you need about 55 seeds to get 1 mg of LSA... so... 55 RC seeds isn't enough for a chronic, that's what this poster says, no? Then if we're so unsure about the content in alkaloids of these seeds and that the floater test isn't enough to tell (who said that again?), chances are 55 seeds do not give 1mg of LSA. Then also, the poster tells about some who took 2.8 mg of LSA, That would be about 130 seeds. On my TrancePlants plastic bag, it says: 12,25 grams = 500 seeds. I think this poster is more confusing than informative. I say we should rely more on our own experiences, it's probably worth more than this (I think confusing) poster showing a HBWR grinding in lemon juice, no extracting time, drying up, then soaking in hot water ... and the text telling about RC seeds, not HBWR. This doesn't seem to fit at all with the preparation suggested on CB. I have read on shroomery.org many trippers grinding their MG seeds with a coffee grinder, but I read on CB many times not to use such a device because it heats up the seeds... Heat (and light) destroys the LSA, I'm pretty sure I read a quote from Albert Hoffman himself (on shroomery) warning about this and about the fact that LSA is very unstable. And if I read the poster well, about 40% found LSA totally ineffective... I think CB's figures would show more like 20% ineffective if not less. 60% doesn't sound to me as the miracle cure. Or am I reading all of this wrong? I was saying yesterday that a variety of opinions is better, now I feel this is so confused we maybe better to agree on a standard procedure :-/

I had an appointment with my neurologist today to get my blood tests results (testosterone, vitamin D3 and a bunch of other standards). I wasn't planning on telling her I joined Clusterbusters, but the first thing she told me is: "Ha ha... your blood test stooled you, you had stopped lithium." So then I admitted to her I had lied, and that last time I saw her I was already detoxed from all meds. Then I told her about CB... She told me: "Oh, I don't know about LSA, what seeds do you say? But what is the most efficient is mushrooms, better than LSD" - Oh, you know about that? - Well of course, she said, we don't live in an ivory tower. She was really curious about the seeds, asked me how about I prepared them, where I got them, why I had chosen these over mushrooms... told her it's not easy to get mushrooms but that we can order seeds online. Told her about Albert Hoffman and his finding that LSA was very similar to LSD and Dr Sewell writing about LSA... Told her what I know about the brain and hypothalamus... she seemed to think I was well informed... better than her But she was skeptic about the LSA ending my cycle: she started counting days... "5 here, 5 there... it could be your cycle was just ending" - Nope I said, I would still be on verapamil and lithium and suffering if not for the seeds... True I wish I had taken these at the beginning of my cycle, not middle, but anyways, proof or not... I know what I know. She took lots of notes when I explained why I decided to stop verapamil and lithium and she seemed surprised at some of the side effects I described (had a tooth that was starting to pull out... that's verapamil) and my fears of long term and permanent side effects from lithium. She assumed I will not be returning to see her again and wished me well and good luck. But I just might go see her again if I get another cycle, to get an O2 prescription. I wasn't too happy about how she presented me the test results though, saying: normal, normal, normal... Not that normal I found out after, coming back home and checking it out. I posted on CH.com about my testosterone level, very low according to me, normal according to her the lab test report, and the vitamin D3 test was not done, a note on the report said my blood will be put in the freezer for 4 months... What? I guess they only do these tests a couple times a year she answered... It's all covered by the state health care over here, so that's that: you don't pay so here's what you getÂ

Certainly not. Just 5 days and it's as if you had never done any ;-)

Sending good vibes to her

Very strange Web site. I'm surprised of the emphasis put on lithium, and so little said about calcium channel blockers (verapamil). If we click "about", we get to this : Hello my friend, and thanks for visiting my website! My name is Predrag Tadic, and I created this site to save YOU time AND MONEY! Most of the time, I don't remember my dreams. When in cycle, I often wake to my night time CH attacks as I'm dreaming... of someone drilling my head or some crazy thing like this. Dreams mostly come in the REM part of sleep, I read on Wikipedia, saying also that: "During a normal night of sleep, humans usually experience about four or five periods of REM sleep" ...and we clusterheads experience 4 to 5 attacks a night. Does that mean we get attacks as we plunge into REM?
-
CHf, the short answer is Yes. There are uncertainties that do apply, although not the same. Again, you have to look at the meds you are detoxing from and how they will affect the bust. For example: Using probably the two most prescribed drugs (off label) for CH, someone taking lithium should definitely wait 5 days because of the potential of a bad trip or worse. Whereas, someone taking verapamil only can get by without a detox period. But, I am not saying that verapamil does not interfere with busting. I myself (among others), feel it limits the efficacy. Today, my neuro gave me the results of my blood tests, and I still had some lithium in my blood (little, but still), that was eleven days after I took my last 300mg pill of lithium at the moment of the blood uhhh how do you say... au moment du prélèvement. I think it's good to stress the 5 days period of detoxing if lithium is involved in order to avoid badtrips

Wooo!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif] I like this thread. This is great information and a very interesting work of gathering in one place tons of knowledge. It's a discussion elevating the debate, I find anyways. Excuse my English... not sure I'm finding all the right colours Uh? sorry, I'm French, what is SPUT and sip? ... mean microdosing? I think this is important. Thanks for pointing it out, Ron CHfather, that's what I think... As I told you in PM the other day, myself as a newcomer, I wanted to see all the opinions, so to make my own opinion having considered everyone's opinion I think most clusterheads if not all are above average intelligence (yep I do claim that) and that they would rather get more than less info, and maybe also that newcomers to CB, as old timers I assume, have pretty much had it with stiff prescriptions and attitude from short minded and uninformed doctors, am I not right? I think everyone's advice has a certain colour... mine will be purple ;D ... I'm certain newcomers will appreciate we don't unify under one rule or even recommendation, but rather that everyone show their colour, There will be those who are more on the safe side, and those pushing it more towards the edge (the limit?), which is my case. Respect and variety... and after all, aren't doctors doing just that, trials and errors? Peace :-)

Yes, that would be nice to have feedback from those who did try less than 5 days. Personally, I had waited the 5 days between each bust, and then I had suggested 4 days to Mrsgrneydldy (sorry if I misspelled your nick) because she was in deep pain, a suggestion which had fired up CHfather (the thread is called New Here). We dicussed it in PM, me and him. I agree here with CHfather that tucker's bust seems like a normal bust and that if 3-4 days isn't sufficient to "open the door back", it would be a setback in his busting. I think there is no clear evidence 5 days is THE number, but it is what has been suggested it seems for a long time, including a personal contact, a professional in health, CHfather has. Recreational use of shrooms or LSD: the usual saying on the street if I can say so is that if you don't wait long enough, you have to take more, like double the dose, but there is no garantee it will do the job. In this file which is posted on CB's front page, it is theorized that each person has its own number of days before the door opens. http://www.clusterbusters.com/theory.html Before taking this theory for granted, we'd need more data from those who did try shorter periods, that's what I think. So after exchanging on the subject with CHfather and thinking about it, I think without any data showing shorter periods can work, it's safer to stick with the 5 days.

120 mg of Verapamil seems to me like a very low dosage. I was taking 720mg before busting. About the pituitary, well to me it would be normal to find that it's swollen after an extra nasty cycle, but my opinion is that it would be more of a result than a cause of the cycle. I am of course no brain specialist; I have been reading intensively on all these matters for the past 2 months, and all I can say with a neuro-endocrinian point of view is that the hypothalamus sends hormonal messages to the pituitary gland, and the pituitary then sends messages to the rest of the endocrine system and other glands. Based on the theory that CH result from an unbalance with the hypothalamus, it would make sense to me to find that your pituitary worked over time after receiving bad messages from your hypothalamus. I think I'm making sense :-/ Here is a nice and clear basic explanation of the brain I found. http://thebrain.mcgill.ca/flash/index_i.html After thinking a little, I theorize it could be rather your suprachiasmatic nuclei being swollen (since the scan didn't seem clear). It's located just above the pituitary. It would make even more sense with the theory about the source of CH, theory explained here http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/yabbfiles/Attachments/CH__Dreaming___Neurogenesis.pdf a little excerpt: (...) However, the third and possibly most important clinical feature is the uncanny timing of both attacks and bouts themselves which originally suggested an involvement in the brain’s master-clock: the hypothalamus or more particularly the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN). It is now thought that an abnormality within the hypothalamus is the root cause of the pain, which, when in cycle, releases hormones and chemicals that innervate the trigeminal ganglion, in turn causing the domino effect (...) or here http://www.ouch-us.org/chgeneral/hypothalamus/hypothalamus3.htm Nitric oxide is involved in light-induced phase shifts of the function of the supra-chiasmatic nucleus during the night. The suprachiasmatic nucleus lies within the area where activation was found on positron emission tomography, and there is evidence that phase shifts of the chrono-biological clock occur in cluster headaches. The signalling pathways in the supra-chiasmatic nucleus change with the temporal domain in the circadian rhythm, but the critical gating probably takes place at a molecular level downstream from the second messengers. Then, a more esoteric point of view would teach that the suprachiasmatic nuclei is the third eye, and ... hmmm I'll never mind this path for now although I think it's an interesting one: not enough data, etc. I hope I'm making sense and that my post can help you in any way, and please anyone correct any foolish things I could have written... this is all very complex
-
Yeaaaaaahhhh!!!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] [smiley=cheesy.gif] [smiley=cool.gif] I'm so glad for you, Mrsgrneyedldy. What a wonderful feeling it must be for you after so long. And please keep us informed if you have anymore slapbacks or if the monster is already sound asleep.

Ooopsy LOL you're right, I wasn't paying attention... but if you notice on the left on the urban dict page, there are other entries, one is moxing, the other moxieman... I suppose this relates to American slang English?
