ClusterHeadSurvivor, I got carried away, I apologize. Well I was not offended by your post, and I had realized you were specifying Canada has many faces, I was more reacting to I'm not sure what reply... as I say, I got carried away. well perhaps this post will be informative for Americans and others to get to know Canada... and Québec a little more. And I will :-X on politics on here from now on... this is no good for clusterheads, it didn't help me today on this side, sorry if I increased anyones's CH.

Et vive le Québec libre !!

and not a word in that video about Québec and the fact that 1/4 of Canada's population speaks mostly French, just ONE shot of the Whole province (8 million inhabitants), the one with the horse and calèche in Old Montréal. When I say Canadians don't know us... they also ignore us.
-
Uhhhh... what is it with les Québécois exactement? I don't understand... pretty much the only place in Canada where people tip decently is in the French speaking Province of Québec. Now yes, there are a few morons of ours who go out to the US, Mexico and Cuba, and Florida, and are often referred to as "los tabarnacos". They are not our ambassadors and do not represent Québec well at all. Montreal is one of the greatest city (well I guess Québec City also) in the world to spend some time in the summer as it's Festival time all summer long, people dancing in the streets... music, fun. And yes, they tip good, much more than in Ottawa, Vancouver where tipping is not usual at all. And by the way, CanadiAns don't know much about their "French" province, Québec, not much more than americans may know about Canada. It's 2 separate countries, really. The actual Prime minister of Canada Stephen Harper, is trailing in surveys at about 8% in the province of Québec, only has a handfull of MPs elected here and represents in all ways the exact contrary of what Québec is, its people, its society, its image... We want out, and I still believe we will succeed in doing so some day, for there is no point remaining part of this "country" and keep on being bashed at. Québec's population represents 23% of that of Canada, meaning there is more than a quarter of the population of Canada who has French as a first language, and often the only language (a million out of Québec). We are different, and that's why Canadians bash on us, but we dislike them too. We like Americans and we almost joined them around 1837 as we do not relate to the Queen of England not one shadow of a bit, and CanadiAns are subjects of her majesty Elizabeth II (and have always been. Not us, never. She didn't dare coming back here afetr she got thrown eggs and tomatoes in Québec City 50 years ago. We like americans here because they at least don't come here with a preformated opinion about les Québécois as the CanadiAns do. And why is the hockey club in Montréal called Les Canadiens? That is because a Canadien (or Canayen), not so long ago still, was a french speaking person, the others were English. There were the CanadiEns, who spoke French, and the English, who venerated the King of England, then the Queen... It's 2 separate things. We were conquered by the English in 1759 (then abandonned by France at the Treaty signed in Paris in 1764), but we didn't become English, and we still speak mostly French and kept our ways... we are republicans, in the sense that we do not accept being ruled by a king or queen. The French kings who ruled over here between 1608 (Québec City's foundation) and 1759 did not have much impact on our society else than collecting taxes and our resources. In that century and a half, we had time to developp our own individuality, which did not include any reverences to any king or queen. I'm not Canadian. I'm Québécois... and remember we invented poutine , Céline Dion is from here, and so is Le Cirque du Soleil and Robert Lepage... Québec's cinema industry is much more succesfull than Canada's and films in French from Québec producers were nominated for Oscars for the last 2 years (3?) in the foreign language category... I had not came here today to defend my people, rather discuss CH subject, but I find it kind of insulting seeing a post bashing French-Canadians (les Québécois)... I hope that Americans will take the time to study a little history and not take any CanadiAns' opinion about what is Québec, because they just don't know us. Two solitudes...

Thanks CHfather. I feel a bit a shame not to be here when the pain isn't driving my body around. But I did have lots to do since last spring. Politically and socially, our part of this country went through a lot, past 6 months, and it kept me busy. But when "it" tapped on my shoulder for real yesterday, I naturally went back to my first defense... It makes me look weird because I plunge into myself... kind of a meditation, I don't know how to explain... I can control the growing CH (at its first stages) by becoming very, very slow motion... others look me stranger than usual and ask what's wrong with me. I look kind of stone. No, do I have to explain, I'm not hit by a crisis right now, but I would be if I wouldn't act this way... There are many things that stimulate my brain, and finding answers to CH is one of them, and I will be getting back to it. I did RC seeds last night, and will report about that in another post. Thanks for the welcome back CHfather.

Hi everyone, it's been a while. One thing is certain, I won't mix my Facebook with CH in any way, just as I learned over my long CH career not to discuss this matter with just anyone. It's sad ppl are getting misinformed but hey... tous les chemins mènent à Rome... we all meet at the same pain anyways, uh place, I mean... everyone their twisted path to... to where again? haha Even amongst clusterheads, it can get very tricky to discuss CH matters, so Facebook? no thanks lol, I'm well down here in this fungus hole :-P [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Hi everyone :-) Five months... since I last busted with RC seeds. For many weeks, not even a trace of shadow, amazing. I was thinking... maybe the age, maybe it will fade away now... No. It's been about 10 days I can feel it slowly setting in place. I don't particularly like the seeds taste and... side effects so I push it away. But I think tonight I have to. I feel a CH just on the verge of developping, fighting with it. Sigh... black future... I've just lived between torture sessions. Will work on getting vitamin M next week

I suggest NDE attacks, or suicide headaches. I don't think anything else can describe and have an impact as much...

I'm just a newbie here, but I felt right from the start I was welcome to consider myself as part of the community. I somewhat understand frustration from people who have worked heart and soul to condense years of research, experience and findings to get this site up, following what I perceive as constructive criticism. The car example isn't quite right though, as this car (the Web Site) is for everyone, and by everyone. It's everyone's baby (well I suppose it is). I understand those who worked hard on this new Web Site take any critics personally, but I think it's important to remain rational. I saw Ricardo's post strictly as a good chance to polish an already nice Jewell but obviously (and it's normal for ongoing research) imperfect. I feel some sort of process to reach consensus has to exist, whatever that process is, as I see this Web Site as the fruit of a contribution from everyone. Everyone includes those who are not satisfied. Consensus is important here for credibility to compensate for lack of scientific evidences in the "busting" field. I realize the French word "consensus" isn't defined exactly the same as it is in English. Here is a translation of a little part of the French Wikipedia for "consensus" which describe what I mean by consensus: "Consensus as a result obtained by using a method of decision making, where one focuses on the validity of the views expressed by each of the parties and that seeks to endorse a choice likely to secure an agreement presented as unanimous or nearly unanimous." I posted on this thread earlier to point out that Ricardo wasn't alone, that it's not nearly unanimous. It's important for me also that the information on the Web Site be in accordance with the latest findings, latest trends on the board (like the RC seeds info being probably what was consensual last year or so on the board, but not anymore) I understand people's frustrations, maybe the timing wasn't right, but I personally think it was needed, and that it's a good thing it came from someone part of the community before someone from outside of the community pointed it out and discredited the Site. Please, let's not let emotions get in the way of research. That's what we're doing here, no? I mean research. Strangely enough, I'm a very emotional person in my day to day life, but not at all when it comes to work. So I understand emotional reactions, I have them all the time. Again... we need to deal with everyone. So that includes those who let some emotions blend with their work, and it includes also the rational jerks like me who will undoubtedly and systematically point out the lacks and imprecisions. Besides, a reaction like the one that has risen on this thread from the community is certainly no invitation to anyone to post any critic at all. High standards of quality need to see criticism as a part of the process to reach these high standards of quality. Peace... I'm only being myself, as everyone is I think. We're all in this CH boat together. Let's stay together, we're stronger this way.

No appetite and skinny here also. For sure is hypothalamus related, and I have many other symptoms linking to hypothalamus and that area of the brain also. Only now that I know about the hypothalamus can I link these lifelong symptoms, since I didn't know about the hypothalamus before. So these past weeks, I've been dealing with many of these symptoms and I feel my hypothalamus tilting free games. Since my neuro raised her shoulders when I mentioned the hypothalamus, I figure it's no use raising that issue with any doctor.

Can I go as far as suggesting the color of the http://clusterbusters.com/ be purple, not blue? :-?

Nice job [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

How cool Found on the Web: In parts of East Asian countries such as Japan, purple is known as the color of death. In general, the meanings of Violet / Purple signify spirituality and contemplation. I think for so many reasons, Purple should be the colour of cluster headaches and I also agree with this:

I didn't scrutinize the new site, but it seems to me Ricardo has a point, and that the whole content should make consensus. Was there a committee formed to come up with this content? It wouldn't be too late to form a revision committee... recommendations could be proposed, then discussed with the members. I always supported positive criticism. I think it's the best way to go forward. Ricardo's critic appears to me to be very positive

Sounds like very good advice. I support this.

Sounds to me this is very promising. You'll know more after detoxing, especially from Imitrex (5 days). I think gardening M is more than a month for harvest. I don't know all the good links to grow, but I've been following Fester's gardening thread http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1328716406/53#53 oops, that's the last page... anyways, you should find your way. And yes, most using seeds use the RC seeds, but I wanted to try HBWR also some time, I remember seeing a post from Kyle saying it was the best. To qualify as a chronic, you have to have a full year cycle, so you're not there yet I think. Good luck and I wish you pain free days soon.

We will get it done, Bob. I just can't focus on this right now, I need to find a job.

Same here, I usually handle stress very well, but moments after... well same with sleeping. As soon as I relax I get hit. My triggers are (when in cycle): - Sleep - End of any stress (after driving a while, after working...) - Being in horizontal position - Leaning down then back up quickly - Getting up after coping with being in a horizontal position - Alcohol of course, any alcohol I think (I didn't test this, as soon as a cycle shows up I'm totally sober for months after) - A bath (horizontal + pressure changes from the hot water) - A too hot shower for same pressure changes reasons - Extreme hunger - A satisfying meal (every time when in cycle... have to eat light) - Focusing on something, or rather more precisely focusing on a chain of actions and forecasting this action and it doesn't happen this way. Like if I see a car at an intersection, figure it will go because the light is green, it doesn't because of a pedestrian... it annoys me and it triggers a CH :-? it's crazy like this. - Uncontrolled action around me, like this friend with her puppy running around my grown up dog not happy about it. - Some stressful situations like family problems rising up - Being alive Other than that, I didn't notice any. I had never noticed the weather having an effect, but maybe so, I don't pay attention to weather changes, they are constant up here, except in summertime. Oh forgetting the other parts... What keeps 'em away? Uhhhhh. Nothing that I can see else than busting, and using my abortives : Ice and coffee, and some sort of relaxation/meditation I developed over the years. It works in the daytime while I'm trying to get a life, not in the night time as I'm facing it alone.

It is of course very difficult to predict on each individual. I wonder what the outcome on your health would be if you don't have an hysterectomy done. Anyways... One thing seems clear, clusterheads have chemicals imbalance, would it be D3, testosterone, serotonin... I personally think these are not the cause of the CH, but they are certainly related. All these chemicals, hormones, serotonin... are managed by the hypothalamus ultimately, so it's surely related. You say your ''CH get pretty unruly around my time of the month''. This sounds like a major hormones imbalance at that particular moment, triggering high cycle. So... I think it could be beneficial to a clusterhead to have these hormones regularized artificially so to have no more imbalance on the sexual hormones side. I base my thinking on this thread at ClusterHeadaches.com where Donna had started a thread on Testoterone in dec. 2008, thread still (more or less) alive. A few male clusterhead had their testosterone checked, foud out it was low, had testosterone replacement therapy started which fixed their chronic headaches. http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1228226896 Here is what Donna was writing in another thread, just a few days before starting the Why don't we take a look a this thread: ''It's when I had my hysterectomy (uterus and both ovaries) that the cycles ended for good. That's also when I started hormone replacement therapy, which I continued (for 27 years) until just last year.'' This (short) thread can be found here http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl%3Fnum%3D1227982344&sa=U&ei=uqhmT_PyBvH4sQK2htW2Dw&ved=0CAQQFjAA&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNE2b3nATPR4g2lQk5Fc6ZHPs_-19Q Basically, what Donna tells is that every time she got pregnant, her cycle rocketed to the roof, then stopped until after her pregnancy stopped, and that for the last 28 years or so, since her hysterectomy, she has been pain free. Hard to tell though if this major surgery would have the same effects on you, and this is irreversible surgery, so I certainly understand your fears. But I think it's worth searching more. Maybe you ought to post at CH.com and ask if there are more women who saw their CH end after hysterectomy. Hope that helps
