  1. I know it's hard to get in to see a neurosurgeon, but this guy scares me. Maybe try some of the medications he suggests, but for sure no surgery of any kind (i.e., no alterations to your brain) until you've tried a lot more things than you have, including psychedelics. Michael tried Lyrica a while back. It did nothing for his CH. Fibromyalgia and diabetes can cause nerve pain. Lyrica relieves nerve pain by "confusing" the brain's perception of that pain. I have degenerative disc disease. One part of my spine that the disease is currently effecting is down near the bottom where nerves exit that feed my feet and legs. As the discs between the vertebrae degenerate, more and more pressure is applied to those nerves and in my case, it feels like I'm standing barefoot in the snow. I take Lyrica, which alters that sensation. Now, rather than feeling frozen, my feet just feel numb. Lyrica's a really good drug for me. I'd be surprised if it did anything for your headaches.
  2. Carl, No, he's not. He's a VERY young-looking 74! Bob, We hope you enjoy your day today Bob. Happy Birthday! Ron and Mike
  3. Welcome Texas Cluster, Sorry you needed to find this place, but awfully glad you did. There's a lot of information here and on this site http://www.clusterheadaches.com/ which is more devoted to traditional remedies and also has a message board like this one. I'm sooo glad you found this site before going under the "gamma" knife. Btw, a good man, fellow clusterhead and Texan named Dallas Denny lives up by - you guessed it. Good luck, RonÂ
  4. I saved my money and bought you a really nice present. But Denny stole it! He thought it was for his b-day Tuesday. I think it would only be fair if the rest of you put all your money together to buy me a reeely nice present for my b-day on the 27th - to cheer me up; I'm already feelin' a little sad 'cause. . . "Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm 64?"
  5. I'm with Denny on this one, Tingeling. You awright. You good, girl! You make me proud!
  6. Dear Tim, I think it's f**king criminal, not what you're doing to grow your own medicine, but that you have to suffer for at least 2 months b4 you have any. If only the powers that be would allow us to do this openly, maybe like is done with marijuana in California, or even if we could supply each other if we both had some kind of card identifying us medically as CH sufferers. Sorry, I'm just ranting. I really wish you didn't have to go through so much suffering - as well as having to be labeled as a criminal - just to provide yourself with medicine to make the pain go away. Ron
  7. Wow! Was that cool, or what? Sure glad you're out there pulling for us, Bob. Thanks a lot! Also glad he's such a handsome fella. It (he) gives our cause a little more class. Probably draws the ladies, huh?
  8. Good for you!, and good for us! Thanks for all you do to help, Bob. How lucky for all of us to have you there. Ron

Apologies for my uninformed judgement. What a spectacularly beautiful place! I'm sure you'll enjoy your time spent there.
  10. Bonkers

    Hey.

    A simple excuse me.
  11. Bonkers

    Hey.

It is quiet. I wonder why. It's like all of sudden at a party when someone says something that's very inappropriate in a loud voice. Everything stops. Anyone aware of anything happening recently that was inappropriate?
  12. Bj, That was really cool. It's being sent to a bunch of my friends as we speak. Really cool. Sorry about your friend, my friend. I hope you get some peace soon. PF4U2BJ, Ron
  13. Thanks FunGuy, for all that wonderful information you posted on the ClusterBuster Files! I know it wasn't easy compiling all that stuff and now you've put it all in one place for all the rest of us. You're not just a Fun Guy, you're a Great Guy and a very much appreciated one! Thanks again, Ron
  14. TO EVERYBODY, SEE CLUSTER'S POST IN "RESEARCH & SCIENTIFIC NEWS," POSTED AT 1:30PM TODAY, UNDER THE TITLE "BOL TRIAL AT THE MHH."
  15. Hi BP, You seem to take offense at other's questions but your anger is misdirected. No one here is prying into your life; we just don't know how to help unless we know what's wrong. It sounds like your life was evolving well and you were happy until you were electrocuted. The result of that was these disabling headaches you're suffering from. Your Doctors implanted an electrode in your brain hoping to provide you with relief. It didn't work. Now you're asking us for other ideas. Is that right? If that's right, I'm very sorry but I don't see how we can help. Please don't abandon your Doctors. You don't say where in the world it is that you live. If you live here in the U.S., your accident should have been covered by Workman's Comp. and you can shop around - with our help - for a Specialist that can help you at no expense to you. It's very bad form to be angry with people who are only trying to help you. Ron

Listen, my friend. I would like very much for you to remain active and conscious on this planet for a very long time. You have much to offer along with an amazing heart. Turkey is one of the most dangerous places on Earth. I expect you to be incredibly careful and stay in contact. Promise. Ron
  17. Hi BP, I've sent messages to some of the smartest people I know, asking for help for you. Please allow a couple of days for them to respond. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. I'll check back with you tomorrow. Ron
  18. Hi BP, Has anything you've tried given you any relief? What do any of your Doctors want to try next? It's hard for me to imagine that a Headache Specialist would term your pain Cluster-Migraine, but I'm far from an expert. Others here know far more than I. Let's hope that some of them will see your post and enter our discussion. This forum has only recently begun. Some of the old-timers to cluster headaches, the ones who know the most and can help the most, only read the new posts weekly or even less frequently. Please be patient for a few days and see what we can do to help. Wishing you only the best. Ron p.s. - I care for my son who is also a CH sufferer. I don't know 1st hand what you're experiencing. I'll get back to you tomorrow.
  19. Hi brainpain, It's very difficult to understand you. From what little I could understand, your story makes me cry. I'm sure that anyone reading will want to help but we need to better understand what your problems are. I can't tell whether your head pain is from the electrode implant or if the implant was placed to control your pain and if that pain is cluster headache, migraine or something else. Do you see a Neurologist or a Pain Specialist or a Headache Specialist? Could you ask someone who knows you, perhaps a family member, to write your story for you as it must be especially difficult to write when you are suffering so badly? We want to help. Please don't leave until you find out if we can help you or not. Ron
  20. Hi Jeff, If I could wish your pain away I would, but I can't. I think you're on the right track with the hallucinogens but since you've had virtually no experience with them maybe you should take it slow as they vary considerably in their hallucinatory effects. You'll find a lot of information about all of them and their effects on CH, here on this website. Rivea Corymbosa seeds, already mentioned by Hickory, have proven exceptionally effective for many CH'ers. Their psycho-physical effects are the mildest, they're cheap and you may find that they're all you need. The major psychedelics, while the most effective, can be pretty scary to the uninitiated - and - they're ILLEGAL. Proceed with caution. Stick with us. Read as much as you will and ask questions. We're all in this together here, fighting a common enemy. Psychedelics are at the forefront of CH medicine. It's absolutely amazing how well they work! Together we can change the laws regulating their medicinal use and remove the social stigma attached to those who use them medicinally. Good luck, Ron
  21. Denny, Check your PM's. Ron
  22. This is the 1st I've heard about yer party, Dude. Mike and I are going to see if there's anyway we can come. Check your PM's in a few minutes. Ron
