Cool avatar, Renee. I'm guessing "Suffering Fairy." And, welcome to ClusterBusters. I've come to believe that the "shotgun" approach is the best bet for newcomers. While reading everything you can on the site, start doing everything that looks promising. Most importantly, high-volume oxygen hyperventilation through a non-rebreather mask - it works better than anything else, that anybody's come up with, that's safe for you to abort your CH attacks (the "oxygen page" inside the gray "menu" button on the left side of this page will get you there). The D3 regimen as outlined by CHfather (http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1314134804) is helping many and, like oxygen hyperventilation, won't hurt if it doesn't help. RC seeds are all many people have needed to bust their CH's and should be tried before any of the other psychedelics. The above remedies are all safe and perfectly legal. Give 'em a try before anything else. I'll bet you'll be far more than pleasantly surprised. Good luck! Ron

Sorry I missed your B-Day, Ricardo. Will try to remember next year - unless, of course, everybody's got BOL, CH is a thing of the past and this board is just a place for old CH friends to gather and talk about how things used to be.

Can't recommend strongly enough that you get yourself an SS lawyer. Their fees are set by the govt. You don't have to pay them anything up-front. They get a %age of your back pay; the money you're entitled to between the time of your disability and the time of your filing. I think. And that's in California. Check your state law.

I'm gonna 2nd the Jeebs on this one. Next to oxygen, RC seeds are the most innocuous of the really effective busting products that we hawk around here. The possibility that you might benefit from the RC seeds so far outweighs the chance that you might do any harm, that I'd recommend you give it a whirl. You need to 1st read as much as you can find on the subject until you're certain that you know exactly what you're doing. Then, you need to get a definite diagnosis of CH from a qualified professional. Then, you need to let him in on what you're doing. Give him a copy of the best article that you read. If he can give you an argument not to take the seeds that you both understand and agree with, don't take the seeds. If he can't, go for it. Just start small. Take like 10 seeds. Then up the dose by 10 every 5 days until you're up to about 70 or 80 seeds. Simple. Keep us posted.

I can't get it to load, Ricardo. Maybe 'cause I got a Mac?

Hi Ricardo, In order to watch the Shulgin video, must I Join/download "Stumbleupon"? Thanks, Ron

Well, I got my 'puter back. Minus, of course, all my emails and email addresses, all my bookmarks, all my pictures, all my everything. My fault for not backing up. Anyone on the board who's been exchanging emails with me, if you would, please email me so I can get your email address back. Thanks. I also no longer have to attempt to use my kid's laptop. I talked to Dr. Goadsby's office manager yesterday. Michael's on a waiting list. I really got the impression that he would do the best he could to get Michael in as soon as possible. Maybe not yet this year but certainly early next. There's typically a 7-month wait. We're ready! Thanks again, Jeebs.

No, no Mr. Bill, please, not another can.

** Totally FREE & effective cure found **
Bonkers replied to no more clusters's topic in General Board
Watching my son, it's hard not to believe that increasing tension of the muscles surrounding his eye on the CH side herald the beginning of spike. Vipassana meditation applied to a CH would involve only a constant awareness of that increasing tension with no attempt to relax those muscles. Hard to see much benefit in that, at least so far as CH is concerned. -
NOW I can wish you a Happy Birthday, Lenny. So uh, Happy Birthday, Lenny. Ron

Dr. Freitag interview in "HeadWise" NHF publicatio
Bonkers replied to apperception's topic in General Board
Interesting article, Larry. With Freitag's reputation as not only a headache specialist but a CH specialist, I can't understand him answering an interviewer the way he did - just a couple of months ago. He didn't just forget to mention oxygen as an abortive, he forgot CCH as a possibility. He confused mushrooms with LSD in stating that "ThereÂ’s work being done to try to synthesize the chemical in mushrooms without the hallucinations and other problems." He didn't even mention BOL. And, he stated, when asked what the one thing was that he would tell all CH'ers if he could: "Find a doctor who understands what cluster is and gives you treatment that works quickly and successfully. That way, you have your quality of life restored without the fear of what's going to happen when the next bout of cluster headache hits." Wouldn't that be nice? -
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Oops. Looks like I jumped the gun by a few days. Sorry, Lenny. I'm sure glad CHfather isn't around to bust me.

You're lucky there's an edit feature, CHF. Otherwise your blatant error would be there forever, in black and white and red and blue, for everyone to see. You should also count yourself lucky to have me here to point out your mistakes.           Â

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry, PMD=PCP is NOT what you said. Sorry to have to prove you wrong yet again but PMD=PCP would be correct in your original statement ONLYÂ if you had capitalized the C and P in "Primary care physician" which you clearly did NOT. Perhaps you should be more careful, hmm? ;D (I wonder how long it'll take till CHF proves ME wrong?)

Hi Ricardo, My best friend since childhood is a dentist and has offered to hook Michael up with the nitrous to see if it works for him. We haven't taken him up on the offer yet but after your experience I think maybe we'll go in tomorrow. Michael hasn't had any PF time for a couple of months - maybe more - so we're anxious to find if it'll work. If it does, I'm going to find a way to keep some on hand. Ron

Email was easy to set up, but thanks just the same, Brew. PMD=PCP, but thanks just the same, CHF. Got an email from Dr. Goadsby's office manager today which said, in part: "He is approved for a new patient appointment however we are currently booked through the New Year and we are waiting to finalize Dr. GoadsbyÂ’s calendar for January and February. For general referrals Dr. GoadsbyÂ’s waitlist is 7+ months long, however we always do our best to expedite cluster patients." I'll call them tomorrow and ask what 'expedite cluster patients' means. Ron

Hi Gord, Welcome to our forum. It's good to have you here. I hope some of the things that you'll read about here you'll find helpful until BOL arrives. Good luck! Ron

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LENNY Hope you have (had?) a good day today. Maybe "She Who Must Be Obeyed" will take you out to dinner tonight. Ron

Haven't been here for a couple of days. Computer's busted again. Think I need a new hard drive. Got a wireless router (we've got satellite internet) so we could use Mike's laptop (something I've never used). Still have to set up email account to see if any word from Goadsby.

I'll bet if he wanted to, THMH could get a tattoo like that. His dogs just wouldn't be as much fun to play with.
-
I forgot to mention that Michael has now been approved for a new patient appointment and is on a wait-list. I guess that was a pretty important piece of information that I omitted, huh? I am the Scarecrow.

Funny stuff, Jerry. It's comforting to know that you're always there to offer a helping hand. I'm spending far too much time trying to come up with a clever rejoinder so I'll just say thanks and get on with my life. [smiley=dankk2.gif]

You're being given very good advice, Crystal. The methods of aborting and preventing CH cycles and individual attacks that you'll read about here have been found to be effective by many of your fellow CH'ers. I'll only suggest that you watch a video of a presentation given by our group's founder, Bob Wold. It's an introduction to busting and the work we're doing here. It should answer many of your questions: Welcome to our forum! Ron

Hi THMH, Did you just turn 50? Re the tat: Howz about the same CH head graphic you saw, still recognizable but in the process of blowing up, with a Psilo mushroom in the middle? With lots of color - I like colored tats. Ron
