Nope. I was unable to attend this year due to financial considerations. The same held true for last year. Last year my youngest daughter (25) got married in a destination wedding. This year, it was my oldest daughter's (28) turn. Thank God, it wasn't anywhere near the affair of last year, but still quite taxing. All of it was of course, quite worth it (as long as it all works out and they stay married). Hopefully, that won't be a problem. They seem to have both made very good choices. I look forward to meeting you Shellie, along with many more here, in Chicago next year! :) bobb

It's great to hear that he is finally getting some PF time (and sleep).

You think the mask works good? Try a mouthpiece. There is absolutely no way to get anything other than pure 02 with a mouthpiece, and it is so much easier to manage. You don't have to have a free hand to hold it all the time. You can hold it with your teeth. Inhale through the mouth, exhale through the nose. It don't get any easier than that.

I've never run across anything to suggest that shrooms help fibro. My wife has it bad, so if there is anything to this I would love to know too.

Wonderful pictures Bob!!! I saw a lot of familiar faces, along with some new ones. I will be in Chicago next year, and Leslie, I hope to see you there! Were the wine glasses an auction item? And are there any left for sale? I would love to have a set of those!

WOW and double WOW!! What a great post!!! Education in general, and public or government schools in particular (in the U.S.), have long been my pet peeve. I don't know what "institution of higher learning" you attend Eric, but sadly, your post does not surprise me. Your insight does! And it is not entirely government schools that are to blame; as you say, much of the decline in our education system should be put on the shoulders of parents. There is much to be worked on -- from the teacher's unions to the overwhelming liberal slant of educators, especially at the college level. But I digress; thanks for the post Eric! Your $0.02 is invaluable to this old man. Bobb

Thanks Xeno!!! This is indeed encouraging news! As many of you know, I have long been convinced that CH is genetic. I have two brothers diagnosed ECH, and I can remember my paternal grandmother used to tie cayenne peppers around her head when she had "her headaches."
-
Knowing Xeno as I do, I don't think he is looking for a date -- more like pimping the senoritas. LOL I talked to him yesterday on the phone, and he mentioned this idea to me then. So I would say that yes, he is serious. One thing you can't accuse the man of is thinking small.

Siv, You might want to be a "Birdman or Birdwoman." I understand that some "fly" off of mountains in Norway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGbuR3LdevM alley

sniff, sniff... :'( Damn Eddie, from another father of two girls (ages 25 & 28), you've got me in tears. That is so special, your girls must be proud! (I don't have any grand-kids yet, but can't wait till I do.) Thanks for sharing that. Bob Bowling

The blender is out, as is the coffee grinder. Heat is the enemy, and both of these appliances produce a lot of heat. A pepper mill would work, but I don't know if it would get them to a powder. You can also put them in a handkerchief or something similar and hit them with a hammer until they become powdered. A mortar and pestle is the best. alley

I just heard from one of the other Brits. He said that CArl was just taking a break, and would probably be back at some time. alley

There is no definitive answer one way or another that I know of, but I believe the consensus is that it could affect the time it takes for the receptors to reopen. That said, I would think that the amount of sputs would impact this. At any rate, I would also think that if you have been sputting during your 5 days, that you should up the next dose somewhat to help make up for it. Anyone else have any experience they can draw upon? Sorry I can't give you a clear answer. alley

It's high cycle time of year now for CHRONICS too!
alleyoop replied to Bejeeber's topic in General Board
Sounds not only logical, but probable to me. -
That's exactly right crosstraining! But all of the others you mentioned should be fine. You might want to also add ginger to your arsenal. Go to the board, "Clusterbuster Files" and scroll down to "mushroom FAQ", then open the attachment on that thread. You will find a wealth of information. alley

It will probably be Monday before we can find out what happened. I do know that CArl uses his work computer, and doesn't have one at home. Hopefully he's just on the golf course! alley

Proteins are an integral part of our bodies. They help our cells do any number of tasks. For example, they transport oxygen, send electric signals and regulate body growth. Problems with proteins can lead to many diseases and conditions. To explore these problems scientists are examining protein structure. This is also known as protein folding. There are computer simulations that can fold proteins. But some people are convinced humans can do it better. That's the point of this download. It turns protein folding into a game. You follow basic rules and treat each protein like a puzzle. Points are assigned for folding a protein correctly. You can play online and compete against other folders. I have yet to find the time to try this, but it sounds as if it is a fun game. And it is good to know that you're doing your part to help combat serious illnesses! http://fold.it/portal/ alley

Nope, with your pulchritude, no way!! It must be from using alternatives. Whatever it is, may it continue indefinitely!!! :) :) :) :) :)

I'm with you 110% Ron!!!

How's the head these days Marsha? I hate I've missed the last two, but hope to see you again next year. Bobb

Hey Eddie, It's great to see you here on this board! And even better to hear how well you are doing!! I still remember how you related to Dr. Lazarus' presentation in Atlanta a couple of years ago. I think we were all genuinely concerned for your well being. Isn't it a different experience attending one of these conferences when you are not in such pain? Best, bobb

I was about to pick up the phone and call you Mad6string! Glad to see you back.
