It likely will work without coffee. Many have used a SPUT when out and about without their O2. Adding caffeine speeds up the abort I think. But, if it was keeping me up at night I would try a least one go minus the coffee. Yes, please keep us updated on your progress. All knowledge is good. and let us know what your Neuro says today. I do bet that your D levels are low. It is so cool to read of your relief!! Hugs!!

Hi Nikkk! Some of us use that method when we are between a rock and a CH. It is sometimes called a SPUT - Small Piece Under Tongue. It can definitely kill a hit when combined with caffeine. Lately some have been micro-dosing. That is taking a small amount (0.250 to 0.350 gms.) on a regular short term basis to keep CH at bay as opposed to taking three larger doses five days apart to break the cycle. It is great to read that it is working for you! Read on and keep us posted. I do second CHF's post about D3 regimen. It helps many Cher's a lot without bad side effects. And most consider O2 the best and safest abortive around. Used correctly, it will usually kill a hit in about 10 minutes. I do understand your aversion to a big tank hanging out, but has been my best friend for years! Perhaps next time you could go with the SPUT and cold air without the caffeine? Not positive that it would work, but since a SPUT and O2 work well and the caffeine is keeping you up, you might give it a try. Keep us posted and welcome.

Welcome jms!! Weatherman has done a fantastic job with his post, covering many things for you. Remember, supporters are our hero's. I can't think of a tougher job out there.

It has helped me a lot Red. My hits are milder and easier to control now. I am sure that a UK member will pop in and give you some ideas on how to procure the vitamins over there. It is a bit different.

Hi Gene. Yes, keeping this 'dark passenger' squashed out of sight and mind and far away is our goal!!! Have you read any of the Clusterbuster Files? You need to be free of many meds before trying to bust. You should start a new thread for yourself. We are all here to help. ATB spiny

Ouch didgens!! I remember vividly the first time that alcohol triggered a hit for me. It was a very severe attack that hit with the second sip of a beer. Did not make it down to the shoulder on that bottle!! I was hanging on for dear life thinking that my head was going to explode!! On the other hand, alcohol is easily avoided right? Not like Mother Nature who has her own agenda. I think that his reaction to sinus swelling/pressure is more common than we think. Why else would so many of us have had sinus surgery because of the pain?

I don't recall one either Jeebs. Some have stated that doing a maintenance dose apparently started a cycle for them. One, as I recall, changed busting substance for maintenance and felt that doing that started the unexpected cycle. I am not sure if he was chronic or episodic. But, he did change up his regular routine. I suspect that most episodics tend to up their maintenance dose or shorten the time between them when it is traditional cycle time. And when they feel safe, stretch out the time in between in their off season. As for Pred out of cycle, I have taken it with no issue a few times in the last 5-6 years.

I am so sorry for your losses didgens. My heart goes out to you. Here is hoping that you can stay active here. The Benadryl has helped many it seems.

Good to see you! I wish that I had a definite answer or suggestion CHS. I am not familiar with Cesamet at all. But, MJ is known to heighten the effects according to Ricardo a long time back. But, many use it at the start of a bust to reduce the come-up speed or tension when the M kicks in. That leads me to think that if is not a blocker but may - may - be an enhancer. Perhaps I can get Ricardo in to advise.

Glad to hear that it worked for you jonck. Most of us are familiar with the miserable knot from CH. I truly hope that dry needling and massage works for you when/if your CH starts up again. Some have tried this and found that it did relieve some of the neck pain during cycle. Most of us have already tried an amazing variety of different meds and treatments from Excedrin to brain surgery. Everyone is looking for relief and pushing for a cure. We are open minded when it comes to CH treatments that have worked for others. It helps us learn new options that might work. It also allows us to share that knowledge and add our own input on its effectiveness. Sharing is a two way street. When we differ, we keep it polite. ATB

Good to hear from you didgens! Sorry that life has been rough for you. Yes, falling barometric pressure is my major trigger. Unfortunately we have no control over that one. I just keep my ducks in a row and carry on. Hugs!!

Hi Grace! I have heard that CH does often go silent during pregnancy. As for the O2, I would definitely discuss that with my doctor. spiny

They are in the juice aisle in the stores where I have purchased them Suzz. And yes, that hour of sleep is precious. So glad that you are better!!!

No. But I have aged out of most trials. Congrats and hugs and thanks if you get to do it! We all will benefit from the new knowledge gained.

So glad for all your positives Suzz!!! I hate pills, but I love the relief of the D3 regimen more!! Tony: I too use caffeine as a preventative. It really helps and I can prevent most daytime hits with my system. The one that I use is V8 Fusion Energy. No taurine but B vitamins are in it. The last thing at night is a V8. That way I can get at least an hour of sleep prior to the first nocturnal hit. Some time back I considered setting an alarm to get up 15 minutes before the next scheduled hit. But I have yet to try it.

Some have indeed tried it. Yes, it includes the forehead and the back your the head and neck as I recall. It appears to work great for some part of the time.

Hello and welcome! Do you have Clusters? If you feel up to it, give us some background info please. ATB spiny

I have never heard of it Chris. What is it supposed to do?

Good article Twisted. Interesting that PH occurs mostly if not always during the day. The male vs. female thing is beginning to change in CH as doctors are finally moving away from that ratio and dealing with reality!! Thanks for sharing this.

Oxygen now available without prescription in Finland

That is wonderful news Tony!!!! Your group has won a great victory. -
Have you tried to abort a hit with an Energy drink or Energy shot? That helps many. I use coffee. Some put an ice cube against the roof of their mouth on the CH side for relief too. Or just breath in cold air. That too can help. Hang in there. Monday is not far away now, right? If you must inject, well so be it.

Sumatriptan and increased attack frequency

Ricardo we had a member, Fabalicious who joined in 2014. She was taking a lot of trex. She detoxed and got PF. About a month later she stopped coming on the board due to a severe heart condition that had just appeared/been diagnosed. Jeebs or another member spoke to her last I think. She was not allowed on the PC until her condition improved was the report we received from her daughter I believe. We have not heard from her since. It was bad. Not a heart attack evidently. I have often wondered how she is doing now. I suspect that if she were better, she would be back. Miss her posts. Anyway, that is the worst case that I am aware of. Edit to add: Another member had taken two shots of trex and was hit again. His wife took him to the ER. They proceeded to give him two more knowing that he had already taken two in under 12 hours. Idiots abound. spiny -
Well, during bad times I have plowed thru 150 cf in a week. But that is not the norm. Unless you are in uncontrolled high cycle, it should hold you for longer. You will need a cart to move it though. Really glad that you are getting set up!!!!

It is so wonderful to see all of your hard work paying off Bob!! We should inundate your mailbox with Thank You notes.

Hi TTS! Always keep that O2 around. Sorry Dr. Rosen moved. He is a great dr from what I have read. So sorry that you are back in cycle after such a lovely remission. Let us know if we can help. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays if you prefer! spiny
