  2. For the past many years, one cup of coffee for me in the morning. Any other caffeine I drink is for my head. During bumpy weather times, I make cold brewed coffee and keep it in the fridge. Other times, I am all over the V-8 Energy!!! There is always some of that in the fridge too. When traveling, I keep caffeine pills in my car. Those are 200mg of caffeine. It's all about what works for you!!!

  5. Riding that horsey has to just be super FUN, with a capital WOW, and it looks quite pleased at the prospect itself - I bet you go for some full on speed gallops (or whatever it is the real fast horse riding is supposed to be called) out in the open! My enthusiasm is much derived from a personal bucket list item to ride a horse one mo' time - last time I was on a horse was as a 13 year old city/suburb kid, on some poor rent-a-horse that wanted to get back to the stable real bad and decided to race another horse - replete with jumpings over otherwise deadly obstacles - to get back there ASAP. It was a true highlight of my life experiences.

  8. Thx Jon for the input. I’m not a huge fan of energy drinks myself but we all know when we’re at our wits end we’ll do whatever it takes. I’ll try and find the 5hr shots. The “monster” energy drinks I’m buying right now are sugar free with i belive 145mg caffeine and 2000mg taurine.

  11. I have been chugging half a monster energy drink before hitting oxygen and the aborts are going fairly well. Pain scale starts at 8-9/10 and decreases to 3-4 within 10-15 minutes and then subsides all together.

  12. LoL Bejeeber this reminds me of a time I went to Maui and thought it would be a good idea to do one of those rent a rides... The guid asked everyone if any of us wanted to lope (run real fast) some say gallop anyhow me being a decent rider I said yes so they put me on this particular horse... unbeknownst to me this horse knew exactly what spot on the trail to start loping so.... all the sudden the horse took off like a bat out of hell... I've never had to hold the horn to stay on but I'm pretty sure I would have went flying off if I had not.. I couldent even try to stop this gelding as it was all I could do to stay mounted.. then he got to a spot and just stopped (he knew where to start and where to stop)... Never again will I do a rent a horse LOL... If your ever in CA just give me a buzz and I'll let ya ride my mare

  13. Juss, When I first joined this board, almost exactly eleven years ago, I was desperate to help my daughter (the person in my family who has CH). That's why I picked the screen name that I have. There was a guy who was furious with me, and let me know that in a very harsh PM, because he thought I was trying to make myself sound like something special, I guess like the "father" of CB or something. Farthest thing from my mind, but he wasn't having it. (He was generous enough to write me an apology, a few years later, for that and some other irritations he had with me. I have always been touched by that decency on his part (Brian, if you're listening. . . )) I mention this because I think you might have me confused with the guy who is indeed the "father" of this board, Bob Wold, whose screen name is Psiloscribe, and who perhaps is a genius in terms of knowing things about CH. I have no knowledge about Botox, and don't think I have posted anything about Botox, except maybe to point someone to the research here and there. If I were to need anything to convince myself that I am not a genius, it would be your posts, which I ponder from time to time, not only because of their content, which I generally can't grasp (but which I am glad to see that others, such as Bosco', Shaun', Jeebs, and jon' are learning from, so they can help teach me/us), but because they illustrate to me that I only know "a lot" about the most conventional things related to CH -- oxygen, meds, RC seeds, and a couple of others -- and the advice I share is nowhere as sophisticated as it perhaps could be. I have been telling myself to go back and thoroughly read your posts and links so I could at least be a little smarter, and with some free time I hope to undertake that project. (You reminded me of one of my favorite lines from a novel I liked quite a lot, by John Lanchester. The narrator, who one slowly comes to realize is completely nuts, is very jealous of his brother, who many consider to be a genius. The narrator says, "I myself have always disliked being called a 'genius.' It is fascinating to notice how quick people have been to intuit this aversion and avoid using the term."

  14. This was the song sung to my son as a baby and toddler. In the key of me! Very easy to sing, even when you are tone deaf. Give me two buckets and I might be able to carry a tune. Jr did a much more 'stylish version later on. But this one has meaning for me.

  15. Juss, I see an FNP. More respect, more interest, and more time. She has recently been moved into her own office by the hospital she works for! This is the third office that I have followed her to and the first one that is hers alone. I find that the interest is there and she thinks about her patients. Actually had a medicine prescribed by her two weeks ago that is allowing me to eat protein again. The gastro tried to take credit for the script when I told her that my PCP had given me samples and it was working very well. 'Nope, I will not let you call in the script!! That is the job of the one who gave the medication to me to me in the first place.' Gastro left me hanging for three years now and my FNP figured it out within two weeks of seeing her. Medicine is crazy. The study on frankincense is interesting. I wonder why it had no follow up? Have you read the Licorice Root Protocol? It is in the files thread.

  18. Just plain coffee has a more caffeine per ounce than a standard Monster drink. V-8 energy drinks (preferred by spiny) have about the same caffeine as a standard Monster. As far as I can tell, those V-8 energy drinks have no taurine. Some people find the energy drinks/shots yuckier than just coffee. If you think taurine is valuable (many do), you can take taurine pills along with the coffee. As jon' notes, there are huge variations in how much caffeine an "energy drink" or "energy shot" contains. In your 473ml (16 oz) Monster (if it's a standard one), you are getting 160mg of caffeine. An eight-ounce Starbucks Pike Place roast will also give you about 160mg of caffeine. (Coffee roasts also vary a lot.) So you are getting a lot of additional stuff in a standard Monster to account for the 16 ounces. A 2-ounce 5-Hour Energy has about 200mg of caffeine. You can see a thorough listing of caffeine content here: https://www.caffeineinformer.com/the-caffeine-database Like jon', I am puzzled that your pain level is so high when you are starting out on the O2, and I'm glad you're having success with the O2.

  19. .....workmates used to think of me as a cat....he jumps up and runs out of a room suddenly and seemingly w/o reason. had to, if i didn't hit the O2 as soon as a hit felt an abort was much less likely to work..... and the longer the delay the worse the chances. golly, i hope it doesn't ramp up that quickly to 8+ for you...anything that high defied abort with anything but a triptan for me, and even then.... ....an energy drink on the way improved effectiveness/speed dramatically. "Wired" WAS my drink of choice....16 oz. with 344 mg caffeine and 3200 taurine, used half a can (8 oz) at a time, the equivalent of a full can other brands. i still cannot understand the success of energy drinks....as far as i'm concerned, along with cranberries, is testament to the marketing abilities of the food industry. w/o CH i would never touch these disgusting drinks....and all that sugar to cover up the gaaaaaack... ....was with delight i discovered the 2 oz 5-hr energy types. no sugar (note if you are sucralose sensitive, i had to avoid aspartame), minimal taste, way portable, easily downed, equivalent components. brand name quality found at grocery outlet stores for $1 or less ea... ...never more than 1 can Wired or 2 2 oz for me in a day out of an abundance of caution. my neuro did not approve of taurine..."too neurologically active and we don't know enough about"...it worked so i did anyway...

  20. Thank you. Maryland is unique in that on one end we have mountains (up to I thinK 3,000 feet) and on the another extreme, 3.5 hours away full-on beach (you guys would call it an ocean). It's small enough in milage that a tropical storm can reach the first mountain range, the Catoctin Mountains, which is where this was taken (Outside Ellicott City, HOCO, Howard County). You also have Appalachia, and God some mountain range way out in bumfu#% Garret County. We also used to have blizzards and where I lived averaged 40 inches of snow. The last bad winter was 2010, we had a 3-foot blizzard, then another, followed a week later by another. Anyway, I went out in a state of an emergency under the guise that I had an electrical hazard that was pending fire hazard, and that I needed to rewire and fix some things. And, from there, we took my panel work van (if not obvious) and snuck out to a state park. The rest follows. I was a former idiot that surfed in Hurricanes and so, a waterfall didn't scare me. Yes, to the point if any bigger I would have been towed into the wave. The rest are from Balwmer (how we pronounce it) or where I miss and hope to live again my old stomping grounds-Old EC (Ellicott City). Aside from the political aspect, it's a great state. We have the best hospitals, universities, and they say it is expensive, but compared to other locations you can make significantly more.
