  1. Wow Allison, so sorry to hear you're being slammed like that! Will be eager to learn of your results with nurtec. Fingers crossed big time here too for it to do the trick for you. Hit us up for discussion of additional (often very effective) non pharmaceutical options to complement your nicely non pharmaceutical O2 if needed, and please continue to stay safe - avoiding prolonged prednisone use.
  2. That poor sweetheart - I love the older doggies with the graying muzzles. She's super lucky to have the two of you taking care of her, but sorry to hear things have gone all Murphy's Law on steroids around there right now! Come springtime I bet this will all be forgotten ancient history and she'll be frolicking pain free in the fields again. She does look sexy with that shaved leg and stocking lol.
  3. If the D regimen prevents cutting the cheese there could be a real mass market for it!
  4. @CHB it sounds like this was a visit with a not-an-actual-headache specialist type neurologist? Those are typically not as up to date on developments regarding CH treatments.
  5. Ergotamine is an old one, and one that would seem like it oughta work since as @BoscoPiko noted, it is derived from "the principal alkaloid produced by the ergot fungus", same as LSD. My personal findings with having tried it many times back in the pre-triptans paleolithic cluster era: It is completely ineffective for cluster aborts, but the inhaler form was terrifically effective for inducing vomiting. I believe others had similar results, hence it having fallen far by the wayside as a medication another CH'er would recommend. Maybe there is some different version of it now? One version was 'cafergot' (pills), also a real dud back then. Yes on Zomig being considered a busting blocker/triptan ( @BoscoPiko for the win again) and I believe the same for ergotamine being a blocker. Super cool, and becoming practically commonplace now!
  6. It's good to share this sort of stuff I think - you've become such a major, consistent personality in the family here, not to mention a real brightener-upper of the place, so we need to know wha's going on! So sorry that what's going on SUCKS badly, but big, big kudos and admiration to you and the hub for tending to your dear lab like that. Outsized stressors sure have that potential to bring out the worst from the cluster bunny - hate hearing that it slipped an attack in on you, but glad at least it hasn't been able to hit you with any more full on blasts since you shut it down with the RC bust. Best wishes for knocking down those shadows from hell next.
  7. As someone with zero medical training I am diagnosing you with a case of straight up conjunctivitis. Symptoms of conjunctivitis (pink eye) can include Pink or red color in the white of the eye(s) Crusting of eyelids or lashes, especially in the morning Viral Conjunctivitis Can occur with symptoms of a cold, flu, or other respiratory infection Usually begins in one eye and may spread to the other eye within days
  8. I think you should cease drinking shots of Red Eye whiskey immediately, because alcohol is a trigger. Sorry, you were talking about a literal red eye. All I can say is I get the 'watery eye' without the pain on semi-regular occasions, and I interpret it as low level CH that hasn't gone full cluster bunny (I also get a version that is accompanied by low level pain sometimes when shadowy).
  9. It sounds like maybe you don't have actual covid symptoms (yet anyway)? I'm just kind of flapping gums to here to keep this topic top-of-list, as there are folks here who are definitely better qualified to respond, but meantime I can imagine the covid kicking up CH symptoms, much like allergies, etc. are reputed to, and I believe I've seen talk of upping the D3 in response in such circumstances.
  10. GOBSMACKED in ALL CAPS, bold font, and underlined!! Both of those 'home permanently' and 'walking with just a stick' are such mind blowers at this point - I may have to pause here before I tear up, knowing this has to by far be the greatest holiday development ever!!
  11. Gee willikers @CHfather, are you SURE you aren't taking phosphatidylserine, because that is some serious recall you got going on to remember that I do! I have been taking 200 to 300 mg per day of NOW brand phosphatidylserine for many many years, and I do absolutely swear by it for rescuing my memory from collapse, but an actual "strong" memory would be a reach, hasn't exactly been in the cards for me - not particularly my jam. You also again remember correctly @CHfather that I don't credit it with helping CH. @Ken S. I see you're going for a full 400mg of the PS along with the B1, B2 for your combo platter - interesting!
  12. Wow, that bold clusterhead interviewing Bob is a real personality, Bob did a great job of dispensing info, and that was overall one helluva segment - both this site and Vitamin M got called out (!!!!!). Loved it.
  13. Home PERMANENTLY before Christmas??!! What incredibly good news Shaun, so glad to hear it. Does she continually astound with her progress or what?!!
  14. That sounds similar to what we call shadows. Very common for Clusterheads. Switching sides is known to occur also, but I don't recall hearing of another instance where it switched following the very first attack. That's a really good thing. Not everyone manages that, so good on you @NickMirk!
  15. I say Amen to the above snappy quotable. This is a bit off topic, and potentially a thread jacking type of comment, so feel free to ignore, but folks such as yourself who can get a break from CH with high dose prednisone can typically also knock out their CH for very long periods of time via busting, as described at the blue "New Users - Please Read Here First" banner at the top of the page here, if you haven't considered such yet.
  16. WHAT!? That is just huge @Shaun brearley - everybody must be pretty much over the moon over this development.
  17. I hadn't even realized a concentrator could go up to 10 lpm (I never tried one). In my earliest cycles as a clusterhead, I found that 10 lpm (from a tank) could somehow abort attacks for me if caught at onset, but of course that went right out the window toot sweet, and next thing you know I was having to huff O2 at 25+ lpm with a trash bag sized reservoir.
  18. @ThatHurtsMyHead, if you see me tagging you here, checking whether you have any idea why some of our MVPs have found themselves on the wrong end of the above thoroughly cuckoo and mystifying restriction?
  19. The xray: Oh man, the horror of the original extreme trauma and the wonder of modern medicine, all in one 'worth thousands of words" photo.
  20. Oh! Can you tell I've disgracefully and sadly never set foot, let alone driven, in the UK? My main point of reference for those pesky kilometers has been some driving in Canada, whee kph were on speed limit signs and junk all over the place, but thankfully at least they drove on a familiar side of the road. So now I finally know: "Britain is officially metric, in line with the rest of Europe. However, imperial measures are still in use, especially for road distances, which are measured in miles."
  21. Five?! Mind boggling that that's even possible - definitely sounds like an art/science combo had to be applied and then some in order to somehow pull that off. It also sounds like now the metal detectors will be seeing her coming from a mile kilometer away!
  22. Knowing the pelvis was seriously shattered , please tell us this x-ray showed some real repair/recovery?
  23. When it comes right down to it so would I, so no judging from me on that front @Shaun brearley!
