  1. Here's another link with some additional close-ups and descriptions: http://www.mosaicwench.com/new-work/2013-clusterbusters-donation/
  2. It is not a painting, but a mixed media mosaic. And I do agree with your sentiment - frightening and hauntingly beautiful at once.
  3. You doing anything to prevent this from happening? That's kind of why this site was created. With the advances made in treating this condition in the last few years, a three-hour attack should be almost a thing of the past.
  4. The Wench's contribution to this year's auction. Personally, I think she's nailed it. It's called K-10:
  5. I have been on Enbrel twice per week for three years until just a couple of months ago for a different condition (described above), and I can tell you unequivocally that it had no effect on my CH whatsoever. Recently my doc put me on Humira because Enbrel started to lose its effectiveness in treating my HS. Mine cannot be considered anywhere close to a controlled study because I started the high dosage vitamin D3 regimen in March of 2012, and I have been completely pain-free from a CH standpoint since May, 2012. I continue to take 10,000iu of D3 along with the other minerals and fish oil daily (not going to mess with a good thing). The HS is suppressed rather well with the Humira, but I don't know if the Humira is having any effect on keeping my CH at bay.
  6. One other thing. You should delay your next bust to be spaced at least 5 days after you've taken anything (like vicodin) that will block the positive effects of the bust.
  7. This kind of thing is pretty normal for me when I bust. But the last few times I busted I was in such a bad place to start that it didn't even faze me. The way it was described to me is that busting is like shaking up a snow globe. Things get really frantic at first, but then, over the course of the next few days, it settles down very nicely. Then you find you're stretching out the time between busts - so much so that if you don't write it down, you may have trouble remembering when your last bust was or when you should do it again. I know of one member here who does maintenance doses on the 4th of July and New Year's Eve - just so he can remember when he should do them. In my experience, what you're going through is very normal. Don't let it scare you off. Keep at it every 5-7 days for at least two more times. And upping the dose will most likely bring you better results long-term. Your mileage may vary.
  8. Yes, I guess in retrospect I should have put the word cycles in quotes. Love ya, Jeebs!
  9. Busting - combined with ongoing daily vitamin D3 therapy - has caused my cycles to cease for well over a year now. I'd say that's a change.

Understandable if people might not want to identify themselves on this website....just sayin'...
  11. Wait the 5 days if you can. 7 is better. The trip is very different than 1g of shrooms. More intense. Depends on how much of it you take.
  12. I'm pretty stunned by this. Rest in peace, my friend.
  13. I invite each of you to give a listen to the demos my new band, Alice Kramden, has recorded: www.alicekramdenrocks.com/demos
  14. No wonder a Montreal vs. Vancouver Stanley Cup final would be so incredibly awesome...
  15. My band opened for the Guess Who at the Harley-Davidson 105th anniversary bash 5 years ago. Got to meet Jim Kale in person. Nice guy, and a very memorable moment.
  16. My dad's side of the family is all Canadian. I tell people that nobody ever had to explain icing or a two-line pass to me. It's genetically encoded.
  17. I'm a perfect asshole. Is that in the article?
  18. Those of you who have been to any of the clusterbuster conferences know of my wife's now annual contributions to the fund-raising auction. Earlier this year she was chosen to be one of 15 artists (or student groups of artists) to adorn a blank, 10-foot fiberglass replica of a Les Paul guitar with her chosen media, mosaic. The guitars will be unveiled this Friday in downtown Waukesha, WI (birthplace of Les Paul himself) as part of the larger Waukesha GuitarTown Encore celebration. Please join me in congratulating her on a job well done, and don't hesitate to stop in downtown Waukesha to see it if you're ever in the area. It will be on display for a minimum of 3 years. http://www.mosaicwench.com/musings/day-54-the-end-of-the-guitar/
  19. OUCH no longer exists. From the ouch-us.org website:
  20. Why wouldn't it be? They are a defunct organization. Plus, you're not doing it for profit, nor would you be doing it to avoid payment of a royalty.
  21. If it were me, I'd do half and half, 5-7 days apart. For me, a follow-up bust always seems to "cement" the results.
  22. Haven't been to Miller Park since the first game of the 2011 playoffs against the Diamondbacks. I don't go in for most of the hoopla - what I know is that it's a damned fine place to grab a couple of dogs with mustard and kraut, a tall cup o' suds, a bag of peanuts, and watch a baseball game. The beauty is that they play - rain or shine. Let me know when you're coming - I might have to meet you there.
  23. ...and my Brewers - already tied for last and three games out of first. Nothing like digging yourself a hole to climb out of before the season's even a week old.
  24. EVERY writer needs a good editor. It's just a second set of eyes that you trust.
