Hey Odin, Check your PM's.

David, you might want to have one handy........ in case the Giants lose. ;D ;D ;D

Welcome back Tim and Linda! Hopefully you will find some relief, whether with psychedelics or busting with some of the other regimens you will find here now, such as vitamin D3, licorice root, and a few others. I look forward to hearing from you. BobB

Now that's paying it forward.

IMHO, now that you have left the traditional meds behing, I would not go back, including the verap.

I'm sorry, but did you say you have an oxygen set-up? It will make a huge difference and allow you to deal with post dose hits, by aborting them in under 15 minutes.
-
It may indeed take a second or subsequent doses to completely end your cycle. But the long high kip hit that you had is what we call a post dose hit. They tend to be different from your normal pattern, and are often more severe. The good news is that you should start to see some PF time now.

Great post damiano, and glad to hear of your success. :) Next time, maybe give the tea a go?

What kind of notice did you get? I just wrote something and hit the preview button, and didn't see anything wrong. -
evo, print out the OUCH letter that I have attached and show it to your sister. If she takes the time to read it, great! If not, you should rest easier - you tried. OUCH_letter.pdf

Really good thread! Purp, you are getting really good info here. Thanks Jerry, Mystina, and the rest of you. Purp with your attitude and honesty, I have no doubt but that you will find the right combination of what will work for you. As far as 02 goes, I understand the fear of being "attached" to an oxygen bottle, but it really is a false and unfounded fear. You don't actually carry a bottle around with you in the sense that a convalescent patient does with nasal cannula and all. Some of us do keep a small bottle just to take and keep in the car when we have to be away from home during cycle -- just in case! You see you are not sucking oxygen to keep CH away; you only use it to abort an attack. Like Jerry said, most get relief in under 15 minutes, and if you catch it quick enough, you can abort in under 5 minutes. And it truly is miraculous the first time (and subsequent times) it works for you. You'll be asking yourself why you didn't do this sooner. All the best purp, you're on the right track. bobb

shocked, I miss your posting since you only pop in a couple of times a year. One thing's for sure though --- you leave us with plenty to read during your absence! Thanks mate.

Just a quick note: Personally, I have always felt that as good as it is, the Kip scale falls short in describing the pain we endure. For that reason, I applaud any effort to improve the scale. Buzz, I like the "jingling keys" analogy you and your dad used to come up with this. I find it especially pertinent in describing the lower end of the scale. I think the upper end still needs some work. For example, #6 and #7 do not address the hits that don't wake you up. It just seems a bit ambiguous, which in my mind is what makes making a better scale so hard, and is also the reason that I feel the Kip Scale falls short. It is simply hard to describe our collective experience on a pain scale once you try to break it down into personal experience. Am I making any sense? Anyway, I applaud your efforts Buzz. A little tweaking maybe, but to me you're headed in the right direction. Bobb

From: http://www.bipolarworld.net/Medications/Mood%20Stabilizers/meds6.htm "The elimination half-life of lithium averages 20 to 24 hours. Half-life in geriatric patients and patients with impaired renal function is increased, 36 and 40 to 50 hours have been reported respectively."

I don't know about anyone else, but I registered with Entheogen's site when it first came up, and have yet to receive an update. Maybe it's simply that there is no news, but it would be nice to hear something.

Hi Damien, and welcome! So sorry you had the need to find us, but glad you did. You have started to do the best thing you can do to control this disease -- advocating for yourself. I can tell you from personal experience that it has saved my life! Knowledge is power! Damien, please go to the drop-down menu below (Forum Jump) and select "Clusterbuster Files." Please read, read, read. As questions arise, come back to this thread and ask away. It may take a bit, but someone will always be here to answer. (Edited to say, CHF beat me to it...again)

Have you tried Pinky's tea Dan? PinkSharkmark’a Kickass Mushroom Tea Recipe Just before you make the tea, dice the mushrooms into fine pieces - maybe twice the size of a sesame seed. The smaller they are, the more easily they will give up the psilocybin to the extracting liquid. Wait until you are ready to make the tea before dicing, as the psilocybin will degrade due to exposure to oxygen. Heat a cup or a cup and a half of water to boiling. Add about a teaspoon of lemon juice, remove pot from heat, wait about 30 seconds and toss in the shroom bits and 1500 mg of crushed up vitamin C tablets (any kind, but the chewable variety will probably taste better). Stir it every few minutes, squishing the mushroom bits against the bottom of the cup or the sides as you do so. After ten or fifteen minutes, strain out the mushroom bits and toss them into a SECOND batch of almost-boiling water and half a teaspoon of lemon juice (no vitamin C this time). You won't need a full cup of water this time...maybe a half cup. Put the first cup of “tea” aside to cool further. Stir and squish as before. After ten or fifteen minutes, strain out the shroom bits, pressing out as much water as you can, and discard the shroom bits. By this time most all the active ingredients will be in the water and lemon juice mixture. Combine the two portions of "tea" into one big mug, toss in a spoonful or two of instant coffee and add enough sugar so that you don't gag when you drink the mix. NO MILK or CREAM, though, or anything fatty. Wait until the resulting mix is cool enough that you can drink it within five to ten minutes. The idea is to get all the psilocybin/psilocin into your bloodstream at the same time. Essentially, you are extracting the psilocybin and psilocin from the mushroom tissue. The hot water does most of the work, but the lemon juice acidifies the water so that the extraction is more thorough. The coffee provides caffeine, which allows the body to absorb the psilocybin/psilocin more rapidly and completely. The vitamin C is an antioxidant to keep the fragile psilocin molecule from breaking down too rapidly. Whether you make mushrooms into tea, dice them and mix with a glob of honey or molasses, or simply choke them down, the key is to do them on an EMPTY stomach. No food for two hours before, and the meal before taking the mushrooms must be fat free. No milk, no cream, no peanut butter, no olive oil, no cheese, no nuts, no avocados. Wait 90 minutes after taking the mushrooms before eating again; all the psilocybin and psilocin will be in your system by then.

Anthony, all you have to do to quote is highlight the phrase or word(s) you want to quote, and click on the button overhead that says, "Mark & Quote". Re: melatonin Everyone is different, but I have been taking 9mg nightly for about 10 yrs now, and I am unable to tell any difference in busting.
