  1. Jeebs, I may just try that. Course, I would have to push the men out of the house for an hour a day. ;D I am glad that I practiced Kung Fu and competed for several years. I learned a lot more than just how to kick and punch. Mental control and breathing techniques are lessons I still use today.
  2. There are three popular PPI's out there, so if one doesn't work well, try another? Nexium is the pits for me while Prilosec works well. Just a thought. You should be proud!!!! I am so happy for you. Celebrate? Of course. With a great dinner and a happy face for sure!!!
  3. Bad weekend!! > You will do it and be sooooo much better Whooli. You are right about getting off the Oxy. After that you will be able to do anything since you will have kicked some of the toughest stuff out there. Are you starting to get your legs back yet? Likely you will be like me in the future. 'Oxy? I would rather go it alone thank you.' All the best my friend. Better days are coming.
  4. About three years ago I told my neuro about the D3 regimen. He would not listen. Last fall I listed it on my meds. Lo and behold: He had just read about D in his Neurology magazine. So, that made it medicine, not hearsay and he was rather gung-ho. I also told him about the new device covered at the conference. That he asked me to email to him. If it is not signed, sealed, and delivered with a seal of approval or delivered via pharma rep., it may as well not exist for most of them. Before our new health system went into effect, I got a 30 minute visit. Since, I get 15 and he has to type while talking. But don't worry, soon we will be waiting 2 years to see a specialist. Take care of yourself because they no longer can. :-*
  5. What???????? Not really. Migraines much more so than clusters. Can make your CH hits worse, depending. > They don't Google. They just run with their magazines mostly. But, after a day typing in all the patient info, I sort of understand it.Â
  6. Thanks kika. Will try to watch it tonight.
  7. Tony, you were lucky. For me, the teacher cannot teach the moves unless the whole class is included - even in the 'this way not that way' stuff. Not doing it facing the mirrors just confuses the other students as they cannot see the correction tied into the form. Nor how it fits. I meditate sort of on my own, when I get hit. No training in that, but my other training has taught me to control my breathing and that is the first step. Proper breathing brings on peace of mind. Which I need when getting hit. Focus helps. For me, it is a 'stop the panic' routine now.
  8. Well, my pain history is very long and not actually needed here. One of the differences that I find is that often we get injured and look at the injury and say 'Boy, that is going to hurt like hell soon.' With CH, we are waiting for the 'hurt like hell' part without being shot or breaking a bone or whatever. It just comes, all by itself, no matter how 'good' we have been, bam out of the blue. Just like we dreaded. We have dread and not a moments grace to prepare for the pain.
  9. Whooligun, I am so happy for your diagnosis!!!! Long wait but finally they got all your bases covered. That is something to celebrate. [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif] Coming off pain meds is no walk in the park. But it gets better and then you will feel so much better. Whole again was my experience. I was on them every two hours, the horrible ....codone bunch before my back surgery. Needless to say, I took something else for pain after surgery. Then, went med free. I feel your pain a bit on that one. Melatonin at night might help? I would try it personally. You will come out the other side and feel whole and yourself again. Very soon I hope. Hugs!!!!!!!!
  10.  I like that one Wooli.  Some days you climb the stairs and some you don't. Moxie - I would gladly take the weight from you! But my husband has insisted that he is the number 1 donor. ;D He loses and I gain so it is a win -win in his book. Most of my friendships are via the telephone. Otherwise, I make lunch dates. Midday is my best time to plan anything. And, I love Tai Chi!!!! Unfortunately, the last class I took and the only one available up here has a poor teacher. I should look back into it and see if someone else is offering it now. Back in the day, I was into Kung Fu for several years. Now, my old bod needs the balance and grace of Tai Chi. Just need an instructor who faces the mirrors when he makes a correction so the whole class can get it!!!!!!
  11. Moxie, I lose weight every time. Sometimes I just can't eat. Other times, I am hungry, but the smell of cooking turns my stomach. Seems like I am always fighting to gain back the last ten pounds all year. You know, that ten pounds that makes you feel/look healthy and human again. Currently trying to do some research on Serotonin in the gut and figure out the connection to see if I can find a reason and reasonable solution. > Not much luck so far.
  12. Thank you Tony. Wondered where you had been! Ok I hope.
  13. ClusterHeadSurvivor -Â [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif] Of all people, you should know.
  14. Personally, I have not thought my nocturnal hits to be associated with REM as I get hit within 15 minutes of falling asleep. I have thought that REM was significantly reduced due to 4 hits per night. We fail to get proper REM unless we can get a rebound REM, which lasts longer. From Wiki: 'The release of certain neurotransmitters, the monoamines (norepinephrine, serotonin and histamine), is completely shut down during REM.' So, serotonin continues to drain and more is not being released during REM. Thoughts?
  15. And it won't let you vote more than once. ;D Come on all. Let's get the vote out!!!!
  16. But Moxie, how true that is, right? Take away love, caring, connection and you have a starving human. That starving human will take what 'comfort food' is offered or can be found. Even if it takes his/her pain of being alone away for only a short time, it gives them some respite. Some time not being alone. Good article.
  17. He is being pretty standoffish about it. But, he is young and so I can understand why he downplays. Did you read something that I missed?
  18. Nope. No dementia or Alzheimers at all in my family for at least the past 2 generations. Beyond that, they all lived into their 80's plus. They may have experienced dementia and it not been noticed.
  19. Well, I would drop to 5,000. But, others may have more up to date info I suspect. You are shooting for about 100ng/ml as I recall. After a month, I would have it re-tested to see if it has dropped to a proper level. I adjust based on sun exposure and get tested once or twice a year. But, I have been on it for over two years now and have a good idea of the amount to take depending on the time of year.
  20. didgens Go girl!! Vegas ho. I just made reservations for Cherokee in April!!!! Black Jack, here I come. Four days of stress relief!
  21. Hmmm.... Dragons = Fabac!
  22. didgens, What if you brought a piece home? I would not want to give someone a cluster, but in the desire to find a trigger, I would break it open and crush and sniff to see if it affected me. Now, that's me. Any trigger that I can ID for sure gives me one more weapon in my arsenal. With chain saws, you have odors from the gas and oil both. For some, that can be a trigger. Then add the sawdust which floats around and is aromatic itself to the mix. Diesel is a trigger for some, like paint thinner is. Diesel smell that Jeebs mentioned would come from the making of the mulch - the grinding method. Just trying to throw out ideas that might help track down the actual trigger so he is not having to be too restrictive in his young life. I know one sufferer can smell blacktop in the air and get an immediate hit. He catches the slightest hint and detours around it to avoid a hit. Hope the odor is gone today and your son had a good night!!
  23. You have been missed Fabac. Mouth and all! ;D Glad that you are back on line!!!
  24. Good to know Sergical. Progress is always good!!! May be! : In a good way, right?
