scottr1966
Cool stuff. I gotta explore some on this guy. Right now I am binging on the Dead and the Furthur band (Bob Weir and Phil Lesh 's new project). If you're into live Dead, check out archive.org. Shows are uploaded in the Live Music Archive. Soundboards are streaming only but you can download the audience recordings. I recently came across this one. Check out this version of "Hard To Handle". Jerry just rips this one and you cannot sit still. Such jammin' guitar on this version. And the crowd is estatic. Put on the headphones and crank it! http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=r8YLDb2hiLU If you wanna check out what the boys are up to currently, check out this gem from MSG spring tour 2011 (and no, that is NOT Jerry Garcia on guitar and vocals, it's John Kadlecik) Furthur band bio: http://www.furthur.net/band MSG show: http://www.archive.org/details/furthur2010-11-21.sbd.official.113088.flac16
Pixie-elf
How about 4 bass players: I just enjoyed that song far more than anyone should I do believe...
Brew
Big bottom. Big bottom. Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em. Big bottom, drive me out of my mind. How can I leave this behind? That right there is some serious poetry.
scottr1966
Actually I posted the wrong link for the Dead show with the Hard to Handle. The version I'm talking about is from another show. Will find and post.

Ricardo
I'm usually more of a Deadhead, but when I saw this guy in NC he blew me away, big time. His name is Ralph Roddenbery out of Georgia, and he's a hell of a character and musician.

That looked a lot like our Fearless Leader @ 2:13. 8-)
scottr1966
Ricardo, I love it. While youre there, check out Take THe Time. Entirely sweet country flavored song! He's on my list. Thanks! Scott
alleyoop
Ting, I am sure that you will like this, but one doesn't have to be Korean to appreciate it.
Ricardo
check out Take THe Time. You just made my day Scott! That song was originally written by Mark Schimick, a member of Larry Keel and Natural Bridge. Hands down my favorite not-grateful dead music to listen to. They're the entire reason I went to NC. (Have to admit, I think I like Ralph Roddenbery's version of Take the Time better though) Here's a really good show of theirs from 2004 http://www.archive.org/details/lke2004-05-01flac16

jasonc
Not trying to trump you guys in age, but I just had to chime in: Jimi Hendrix, 1968 Atlanta Municipal Auditorium. I was 19, and it was a date for firsts, including actually hearing a guitar talk (I swear it wasn't the acid). ;D I bet that was a great show. I'm jealous ! I can't even imagine going to one of Jimi's shows. I bet it was an awsome experience  Then Janis ! Some real gone artists there.. Ever wonder how the music scene would be if Jimi, Janis, Jerry, and Jim were still with us Later the same year, Janis Joplin West Palm Beach Pop Festival, and the list goes on... GOD That would have sweet to see. Love Jimi, Janis, and Jerry.

scottr1966
Love me some Hendrix at Monterey. Man, i cannot imagine how mind blowing it must have been for all those peace and love freaks, high on Owsley's, to see and hear Jimi for the very first time. What an introduction. I read that he got a 20 minute standing ovation! Very groovy 8-) Scott

scottr1966
Hey, we are now on YouTube. While you're there, you can also check out some hilarious footage from St. Patty's Day in Savannah, Ga. My wife was railing! We played downtown from 2-5 and the video is of Cindy and I trying to get the hell out of there! Enjoy! Scott
