  1. Thank you CHFather, I read your post on preventative methods. I've done all those things except for caffeine. I basically figured out the Ketogenic diet on my own and have an oxygen tank on hand. I do the D3 and the bathtub and cold packs. But all of the information in one place is very nice to have. I have also busted, but because of the pandemic, was not able to bust with my 3 children in the home, I feel that is why the clusters were so awful this time. Thanks again everyone!

  2. Dehabel, Off hand it appears you're starting to respond to the anti-inflammatory regimen. Steroids tend to slow the response to vitamin D3 and all the cofactors. That said when push comes to shove, steroids do work... it's a tradeoff. Oxygen and a week to 10 day course of Benadryl (Diphenhydramine HCL) at 25 mg every 4 hours during the day and at bedtime will help. Just be careful and not drive as this much Diphenhydramine will make you drowsy. Many CHers who need to drive during the day have found it's best to wait until you've home for the day then take 50 mg as you walk through the door and another 50 mg at bedtime. Take care and please keep us posted. V/R, Batch

  4. I started the Verapamil two or three days ago and take Benadryl. My spell should be done naturally in a couple of weeks - like four...so, I am hoping this kicks it to the curb. Shockingly, when I got my bloodwork back the other day they found some blood disorder where I produce too many red blood cells. Something called polycythemia vera and yesterday I started what they call phlebotomy. Where they take a pint of blood out of me every week to get my hemoglobin and such where it needs to be - seems sort of medievel to me, but I wonder if this helped. Perhaps that is what made them come back after eight years. I also got melatonin, I did not like it though. I still got a bad headache and it made me feel weird. We will see what I do tonight. Everyone keeps telling me to get oxygen. Monday when I had an appointment with the jerky doctor I do not like, he told me I might have lymphoma because of my blood issue, so I got a little flustered and forgot to ask him. My appt with oncologist was much better yesterday and so, I have a new neurologist on Thursday and will ask him for the oxygen. I can't thank you enough for your help! ~Chrissy

  5. People often start at about 9mg of melatonin, and then work up as needed/tolerated. Some people here take amounts in the high 20mgs or even higher. Melatonin plus Benadryl is a strong dose of sleep-inducing medications, though, so take care if you are doing both. Yes, GET THAT O2, ASAP!!!!!!! You're putting yourself through a lot right now that you won't need once you have the O2.

  6. Yes, Ketamine is used for CH. We have members who have received this treatment from their physician. We would never encourage any member to take 2 bottles of cough syrup. There are many side effects, even at the recommended dosage, so why jump in for two bottles and risk a major problem because you are taking MAOI's or other necessary meds for other conditions? Robitussin in not without risk in the first place. And is not for those who take certain drugs on a daily basis. The 'proper' place for this post would be under Research &Scientific News. Members are always interested and read the posts there regarding what is happening to help our community. This would be a great place to put links you find interesting to the community. That would be an actual help. Would you like me to move this for you so that you are fulfilling your goal of providing help to those who suffer from CH? It would not be buried in a thread that would not be seen by many. Adding the Shroomery Sponsor page is not needed or appreciated. I am asking you to not include such links and to delete it from your post. Since you evidently do not suffer from CH, you really cannot contribute your own experience on Share Your Busting Stories or Theory & Implementation. Those threads are for people in pain. Read them? Of course. Be sympathetic? Yes. Offer suggestions for treatment? Not a great idea. We do appreciate that your stated purpose is to help people in pain. I am asking you to use that desire to post in a way that will help the community.
