For us chronics, at least me. I know the hits are coming numerous times a day. Often kipp 9-10s, so I see it like this. Plane, train, home all good same sht. There is no stopping them some times. But anything except the dentist while they are doing oral surgery. That was the worst. Take some trex and hope for the best. In the last 5 years I flew 5 times. Only once did I get a CH and I took a trex (that was when I relied on them). Now I don’t fly with anything except ketamine if I have it. That would be a great abort on the plane. People it’s not reported much but oral and nasal ketamine will abort CHs!!! If you get fewer attacks your less likely to build a tolerance. If you are worried about disorientation or other side effects the oral (troches) are much less intoxicating when you are a newbie. Takes a bit longer to kick in but what a life saver for me in the past. Having both is my goal.5 points

So, I am wondering how you get Ketamine if the doc won't Rx it? 'Here's a matchbox of crystals. Take two at first. If no relief, take one more.' ???? I suspect that I am in the poultry family!!!! Run like mad if I don't understand it!4 points

You don't need the humidifier buddy . 15lmp regulator should do you . But if you can get 1 that goes up to 25lpm that would be even better3 points

Hello, I recently tried Oxygen therapy and it works to abort my attacks. I have bought 4 10L tanks, a regulator with a humidifier bottle and a non re breather mask. I have the following questions. 1. Is the humidifier bottle required? I don't see mist people using it. 2. 0 to 25 lpm regulators are not available here in India. The ones available are supposed to go to 15 lpm but the humidifier bottle starts leaking O2 beyond 5 lpm. Everyone I speak to suppliers/ medical staff, they insists no one needs more than 5 lpm. Ive stopped even trying to explain to people anymore. Can someone please give me a link for a good 0 to 25 lpm regulator. 3. Or, should I just get a 0 to 15 lpm regulator without the humidifier bottle? I'm so glad I finally tried the O2 therapy. The constant fear of the next attack is gone coz I know I'll abort it before it reaches extreme levels. Pain free wishes to all. Vipul Nair Har Har Mahadev2 points

Juss you really are a deep thinker and I really love that I'm learning so much from you buddy . But please don't switch yourself off from the modern world as you have to live within it, as Bosco has said time moves forward we have no control over that buddy and I'm afraid we as human beings have to move forward with it2 points

I seriously need to repeat this over and over to myself until it sinks in and sticks - I can see myself going for this without hesitation in the event of an O2 fail or unavailability.2 points

Hey BoscoPiko, Cluster headaches are very sensitive to serum oxygen concentrations. If the partial pressure of arterial oxygen (PaO2) drops below a given threshold as it will when flying at a cabin pressure equal to 7,000 feet altitude (2100 meters) in most commercial airliners, PaO2 will drop by 30%. This opens the door to the CH beast jumping real ugly. The same thing happens when we sleep as our respiration rate is as low as it can get while we're alive. The low respiration rate also causes an increase in the partial pressure of arterial CO2 (PaCO2). The combination of low arterial oxygen and high arterial CO2 makes for a perfect storm occurring as most of you know, one to two hours after falling asleep. If you're an episodic CHer in cycle or chronic and need to fly, take a couple Imitrex (Sumatriptan Succinate) 50 mg tabs an hour prior to takeoff and carry an Imitrex inhaler or Imitrex SC injection pen during flight. If you're a CHer maintaining a CH pain free status taking a vitamin D3 maintenance dose of 10,000 IU/day and cofactors, take a 100,000 IU loading dose of vitamin D3 24 to 36 hours prior to the flight. The following chart illustrates the changes in vitamin D3 and 25(OH)D3 serum concentrations following a single oral dose of 100,000 IU vitamin D3. Take care and keep your immune system boosted with vitamin D3. V/R, Batch2 points

I've looked on Amazon India and their are plenty of regulators you can buy on the site buddy . You still haven't given me your ADDRESS for triptan injections , if you still want them?1 point

It appears to be the same....but I admit I can't say for 100% certain. From the India Amazon pages: https://www.amazon.in/Flameco-Oxygen-Regulator-Single-Gauge/dp/B07NQHXPBV/ref=dp_fod_1?pd_rd_i=B07NQHXPBV&psc=1 There are more listed as being available in your country on Amazon India. Take a look there.....1 point

VERY happy that O2 is working for you!!!!! If by 10L you mean 10 liters, the tanks must be bigger than that! There are two basic kinds of regulators (at least in the US). What kind of regulator you get depends on how it connects to your tank. If your regulator looks like this, it is CGA-870. If it looks like this, it is CGA-540. If you have a CGA-540 connection, you can also use a welding O2 regulator. We could give you ideas for where to get any of these in regulators in the US (Amazon or EBay, for example), but will that help you there? Can you google and find them? As you suggest, if the 0-15 reg does its job when you remove the humidifier, you are probably okay with that. As shaun' says, most people don't need the humidifier. I would suggest that you read through the section on oxygen in this file for some thoughts that might be valuable: https://clusterbusters.org/forums/topic/6213-basic-non-busting-information/1 point

And for those who don't have the medical background, the PaO2 reading is not the same as O2 saturation. Batch would know all about this from his work life. For most of my life I traveled with trepidation because of headaches - could be migraine, could be cluster. People don't realize that having this disease means you think twice about shelling out money for travel when you could end up in misery.1 point

i have had success asking the flight attendant to provide me with the emergency oxygen that they carry on board and just tell them it is for a neurological condition ...you have to have your own regulator and mask though to make it work1 point

Thanks Juss. Please do realize that not all of us have endured what you have and that dosen't make us less aware of the current economic environment or the current political environment. We are smart Americans with tough skin God loving and God fearing individuals. I know you are a deeper into what's going on but please don't discount us . Many make a small crowd.. masses make a movement not to be ignored...The time is here and now as Time has no way to stop ticking on you or me. Time in itself is the most wicked of all things as it cares not..1 point

I only try to help, though admittedly my approach may be abrasive. To be fair, twenty years ago it wasn't and I don't believe in the modern sociolinguistic theory, abuse, and destruction of our language. Euphemistic language is nothing but a strange bedfellow. I try to teach people that some common approaches are true, and one holds much truth: “ignorance is bliss.” When you turn off from the boob tube you turn off from an assault of behavioral programming, derision, division, and politics. I think it is 5 corporations control the message that goes into your mind, it was 20 when Chomsky wrote the landmark Manufacturing Consent in 85(?). Do the math. The key to happiness is to stop the frivolous pursuit and instead self-discovery. Egoism, hedonism, it seems all the isms are deleterious. Read for enlightenment, challenge yourself. Good luck.1 point

Oh my Juss.. thank goodness I wasent taking a sip when reading this section of your post! Thankfully I was sitting passenger on the way home from the equestrian facility and when I read this line I belted out a laugh that anyone would be curious about.. My husband was seriously confused at my random laughter when I reread what you wrote he named off several so called iconic reality gals that seriously wear this shoe.. I do have a boob tube but only watch it on Sunday when Yellowstone is on or some other show of that nature. Shoot I still watch the re runs of Bonaza1 point
