Hi Mr B, We've found that in most instances 3 days isn't long enough to detox from most meds that interfere with busting. 5-7 days is usually recommended as the minimal break. Another thing; 15LPM is considered the minimum volume of O2 necessary to provide relief (most use 25-45LPM) - and that should be hyperventilated for an additional 5-10 minutes after getting relief. One more thing: alcohol is the one, almost universal, trigger for CH. My son, like you, can drink with impunity (he works in a brewery). Many here like to drink, miss it and envy you your ability to consume alcohol w/out the attendant CH hit. A reminder of the nicer qualities of your fine wines is a punch in the gut to those who wish they could drink but can't. Your comments are appreciated Mr B. But maybe a little more sensitivity and accuracy are in order. Ron p.s. - My post sounds preachy after re-reading it. I don't mean for it to be. It's just that when someone new asks a question or is searching for an answer and reads that they can connect concentrators in line or that 3 days detox is sufficient, they'll take it for gospel if it's the first thing they read. Folks who've been around a while will take it with a grain of salt - but that's not who you're trying to help.

Dan, I think it's more than likely that the Lidocaine drops were ineffective in your case because they ran out your ears. Your friend, Ron

1000 POSTS!!!! Yay Ting! You've given of yourself 1000 times to help strangers. Maybe you don't feel too good about yourself just now, but look at all the people you've helped to feel better about themselves. You're a hero to a lot of people, Ting. Thanks a lot for being there for all of us. Ron

Hi Eamo, I wouldn't go to the Migraine Clinic unless they also treat Cluster Headache patients. Ask if they use high-volume oxygen hyperventilation through a non-rebreather mask as a primary treatment for their CH patients. If they don't, try to find a Headache Specialist. He/she will probably be a Neurologist. You can find answers to most, if not all, of your questions in the ClusterBuster Files accessed through the Forum Jump at the bottom of the page. Good luck. Ron

Hi Chris, The licorice tincture that Les introduced us to did nothing for Michael's HAs but improved his mood better than any Anti-depressant he's ever taken. It might be worth your giving it a try. Ron p.s. - No apologies necessary - ever.

Dan, Don't forget that you can't come within 300 ft of underage females as part of your probation. Just trying to be a good friend. Ron -
You don't need to "trip" in order to "bust," but you should notice some difference, at least visually, a couple of hours after you dose. There's no other way to be certain of the quality of your busting materials. For most people, 1-1/2g-2.0g of high-quality, "cracker dry" shrooms is sufficient.

For most, LSD is the most effective abortant; followed by shrooms and then RC seeds. Most though, start with RC seeds. If they don't work, they try shrooms and then LSD. Many, many people find that a combination of RC seeds, high-volume O2 hyper-ventilation through a non-rebreather mask and energy drinks containing caffeine and taurine are enough to do the trick.

Hi Alex, Most folks maintenance-dose a couple of times a year. If you're comfortable with the shrooms, I'd suggest a small dose - say 1-1/2g-2.0g - every 4 months. If that works to keep the Demon at bay, try every 6 months. Then, once a year. The idea is to take as little as you can, as infrequently as you can, and still remain HA free. Of course, if once every 4 months doesn't work, increase to once every 3 months, etc. You're going to have to experiment on yourself; everybody's different. Good luck. Ron

Hi Jeff, There's a lot of info about your HAs and effective ways treat them that you should bring yourself up to speed on. Go to the Forum Jump at the bottom of the page and scroll down to ClusterBuster Files. Spend as much time as you can there. You'll be glad you did. Good luck. We're here to help. Ron

Hi FB, I get not liking doctors, but if you can find a Headache Specialist - not just a neuro or a pain guy but someone who specializes in HAs - who treats other cluster patients, to both diagnose your CH and monitor a treatment plan agreeable to both you and he, someone who understands and prescribes oxygen and has at least heard of using psychedelics to treat CH, you'll be glad you did. The ClusterBuster Files - which you can access through the Forum Jump at the bottom of the page - contains a wealth of info that you'll find both interesting and helpful. Learn as much as you can and ask here about anything you don't understand. Here's a couple of videos taken of speeches by our fearless leader to give you a good start: Welcome to the site and I wish you luck. I'm sure others will chime in soon to provide more information/advise. Ron

Hi Sam, Quite a bit of info in the ClusterBuster Files, this in particular: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/yabbfiles/Attachments/Frequently_Asked_Questions_Mushrooms.htm. Some of it dated but should get you started. Ron

Maybe picketing to raise awareness isn't such a bad idea. Ron

Welcome, TripleT. Lousiest birthday gift I've ever heard of. Sorry to hear you're getting bombed. There's a lot of really good information in the ClusterBuster Files you can get to from the Forum Jump at the bottom of the page. Very likely some of it could help you. Read and ask questions. I don't know how anyone on this side of the Atlantic could help you directly but members living in various parts of Europe may well be able to. Stick around. You just never know. Ron

Hi prolosam. So, you're living in Canada? Would it be impossible for you to start a psilocybe mushroom garden? Ron

Happy birthday Lee Ann. How many is that now? Sorry, mom said never ask a lady her age.

Good to see you're getting hooked up with the O2, V.A., but I agree with Bob that you give the impression of taking the advise given here with a grain of salt. Most of us here have far better things to do with our time than using it to answer questions that are posted frivolously and then go unheeded. We're anxious to help you in any way we can but if you're not willing to do your part, please free us to spend our time on this board more productively. Ron

Hi V.A. If you have the supplies, yes, do try. My son has successfully busted many times while taking Methadone. Ron

Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Angel. Happy birthday to you.

My kid works in a brewery. Drinks whatever, whenever. Not a trigger for him. Jealous?

Hi VA, Sorry to hear you're not on O2 yet. Just a thought: Maybe talk to a welding gas outfit, tell them you're a starving artist and need the O2 for your artwork, workout a payment plan for a tank/O2 and get a mask online for $25 or so. Just a thought. Ron

If you and your GF think she's getting CHs, you need to see that she gets to a Headache Specialist pronto. Not just a Neurologist or a Pain Specialist and certainly not her GP. They get very little training and most have never seen a CH patient. Very important. There are many, serious problems that could be causing her HAs. Good luck. Ron

Thanks, Shocked. Incredibly interesting. Where do you find all this neat stuff? Ron -
Hope you find some relief, EZ. I tried Thorazine when I was a lot younger just to see what it'd do and it knocked me out all right. But damn, what a hangover. And a headache. Whew. Ron
