Inexpensive 25lpm O2 regulator: On Amazon

With that regulator the user just sets to flow rate to match their O2 consumption. Set the flow where you aren't waiting for the reservoir bag to fill, but not to the point the bag stays full and tight all the time. It'll take a little fine tuning but once you match your breathing technique you won't have to worry with it much.

I have a demand valve, several 25 lpm regs and a 40 lpm reg. My advice is always this...if you have a proper mask like the ones we all recommend here and you can't "outrun" a 25 lpm reg with your effective breathing technique, a demand valve won't help your abort times. Now....what do I mean by "outrun". If you are constantly having to wait for the bag to fill you are outrunning the flow. If there is very little or no wait then you have enough flow for your technique and more flow won't be of use to you. Now....for the sake of discussion you are outrunning your 25 lpm reg and would benefit from a higher flow rate there are several ways to get it. One is the garbage bag rig which some use but personally I don't care for. Another is the fabled demand valve or just a plain old reg with a flow rate higher than 25. As I stated above I have both. Each has benefits and drawbacks. My demand valve sits beside my bed at the ready for those night time wake up calls. It's easy to reach over, turn the tank on and start huffing. No thought to flow rates, fumbling with dials just grab it and go. To me this is where a demand valve shines. It's good in a car for the same reasons. It does conserve O2 because it gives you no more than you ask for. Drawbacks.....cost. They can be pricey. If money isn't too much of an issue, you believe the flow rate will be of benefit and you like what I've laid out here, go for it. But before you do, consider this..... A 40 lpm reg can be had for much less than a new demand valve. It will give most people all the O2 they can handle so abort times will be very close if not the same. Yes it does require more thought to dial in and you'll probably be adjusting it up and down more than a 25 but having that extra flow when you need it is great. If dollars are tight, consider this route. If I were sitting on the couch watching TV and needed O2, I wouldn't step over one to get to the other....but for the reasons listed above each makes sense in their own way. Bill

There are many things I worry about. Starting a car with an O2 tank in the trunk isn't one of them. I carry a smaller D tank in my vehicle. It's in a carrying sling with the regulator attached, tank valve off. I wedge it partially under the drivers seat from the rear so it doesn't move around while driving. It can be ready to use in 30 seconds.

I attribute my PF status to D3. Took time....more than I would have thought but it appears to be working....and has been for a while now. My personal, for what it's worth, recommendation is to have O2 set up and ready all the time.....a safety net. A good mask from clusterheadaches.com and a 25 lpm reg does the trick for many.

Sounds like one of those "I'll only tell ya if you beg, plead and recognize me." type posts. I've seen many through the years. I know that if one of the many people I know with CH were to somehow stumble on to a real cure for this crap we have, they would be shouting it from the treetops. No one that lives with this shit would withhold information that could bring relief to others that suffer. The desire for personal gain causing a closed mind??? Here???? Seriously????? The fact the you even suggest such a thing shows how off target your sales pitch is. This place is a direct result of Bob's quest to help others. Because of that, many others here have spent far more than they'd care to admit trying to educate people on options, advocate for our collective and lending a helping hand when needed. To suggest a profit motive here of all places is beyond asinine....at best. I'd better stop here before I earn a posting vacation for my non-PC, obscenity laced tirade kicks in to high gear.

Short answer...yes. Here is but one that is available. You configure the order from the drop downs. CGA-540 I've ordered from them before and they are good pieces. There are adapters available from a different source but they aren't cheap. Unless you just gotta have a certain regulator it's best to just order one like the one above. Oh....one can also source an inexpensive welding reg as well if money is tight. They can be a tad tricky at first but once you dial it in, it's great.

As for pics.....Back in the days of OUCH I used to fill up CH.com with convention pics but have never really done so for CB. I always figured people might value privacy at these gatherings. Plus it's nice not snapping pics all the time. That being said I could be talked in to taking a few and posting them up as long as everyone was good with it.

I'm always open to local restaurants. It's been several years since my last visit to Dallas (connecting flights not included) so I'm not up on the best places. Keep the suggestions coming!

That's not a bad price from what I've seen lately. As to the quality of one over another.....I can't really speak to that with any authority.

Demand valves on med regulators need a DISS fitting. DISS fittings can be found on either type regulator but they are not standard on either type. I've seen welding regs that can support the demand valves as well.

If they can coil it, a pipeline could be a 3rd option. No doc here but we were faced with the choices when my wife was diagnosed a few years ago.

They will have a couple larger tanks that will accept welding regs. You do not need a script to buy a medical tank regulator. Even though you use welding O2 it pays to keep a medical reg around.
