  1. All, It's with a heavy heart I have to do something today that I've only had to do once before. Ban someone from the board. This action was not taken lightly. I'll leave details out, but nearly every personality conflict on the board for the last year or so all involve one poster. I've asked politely. The mods have asked politely. This poster has received warnings and yet continues to post inflammatory remarks. There seems to only be one action left so that members here can focus on helping one another, that's the reason we're here and the reason the board is here. To help, not hurt. We all have enough hurt in our lives with CH already. Love to all, J

  2. I like being oblivious about such things and do not envy such a duty. The moderators have earned my trust and I trust their judgement. Your work is appreciated.

  4. This action is supported by all admin personnel. Each of us have responded numerous times to pm's and 'alerts' from this person. The fact that less than a handful of members have been banned in over a decade shows that we strive to help people. That is our only agenda. Please keep in mind that this is a safe place for people to discuss and work on pain relief and having a 'normal' life. We all have Ch. Every Admin strives to provide a safe place for our friends who suffer the same disease or similar. We are walking the same path as our members. Family clashes can and do occur on occasion. They are generally short lived and everyone moves forward, closer to the goal post, rather than creating divisiveness and discord in the group for personal reasons. The discord is not helpful nor does it benefit anyone. Sad as it is, it is necessary.

  5. That must have been a very tough decision. Mental illness seemed to be at play there, clear as day. Passive aggression, persecution complex.

  6. Nice respect, but in my philosophy I would radar jump off a building than ban someone that has CH. Crucify myself to a cross pretty much

  7. dehabel, Sadly, your doctor is clearly in the dark on dosage. At the CB conference last year there was a really good presentation on Emgality. It was stated and backed up by multiple people in the crowd (that were in the Emgality trial). The standard migraine dose does nothing for those of us with CH. If I recall correctly, I think it also only helps with episodic. That Chronics it doesn't work at all. (I'm sure someone will chime in here and correct me if that's backwards). Sometimes doctors are clueless and sadly some have an ego that prevents them from getting the education to help their patients. IMHO, I'd fire him and get another doc (if you can). I concur with your decision on dopomax also. (as the CH community commonly call it). I know it does help some people, but at what cost? I couldn't work if I didn't have my wits every moment of the day. Keep us posted, J

  8. No. Or at least probably not. For Batch (username now xxx), I think he found that the full D3 regimen had pretty much eliminated his CH attacks, and when they came back he found that Benadryl eliminated them again (that's how I remember it). So in the right circumstances the answer might be "yes," but I don't think you have reached that state yet (and, frankly, I don't think most people ever do). For now, I would say you will know if it works if your attacks are less severe or maybe less frequent, or both. It sounds like you don't have oxygen. If I'm right about that, you really want getting O2 to be your main priority. You might want to read this: https://clusterbusters.org/forums/topic/6213-basic-non-busting-information/

  11. Technically not plants. Mushrooms breath oxygen and are more closely related to animals than plants. If you try to grow them like plants, you'll be in for a bad time.

  12. ...a doc that knows about shadows is somewhat remarkable and a good sign...many physicians have NO clue on CH period... ....not gonna be able to help with your question....we're all different and you will only know through experience...in my case it changed, at one point (ECH) a shadow was an ill omen always predictive of a full hit...later (CCH) just a 'bother" that I got used to (no choice...sometimes constant, not predictive, relatively "mild" and unresponsive to O2 and energy drinks) On occasion naproxen (Aleve) was helpful.... best jonathan

  13. Hi Dlions20, Occasionally we are seeing people here in their 70s asking on how to treat their first CH cycle after a remission of sometimes 20-30 years So I would say, never consider this thing as "done" or you can be in for a nasty surprise later on. And when you are pain-free, always consider it as a remission and enjoy that time :) siegfried

  15. Hyperventilation with room air until you reach respiratory alkalosis can be helpful in lowering the pain of CH but it too, does nothing to replete a vitamin D3 deficiency.
