Your 2 funny Shaun! I tell ya I'm getting an idea with all the moaning from my husband The problem is that I got it one day ahead of him so in his mind I have to be feeling better than him because of that one day jump.... the words "honey will you" are starting to sound like nails on a chalkboard!! Thank goodness we don't have a bell in the house2 points

I am so sorry to read this Bosco! Ziinc = 50mg/day C = 2000mg/day D = 10K/day at least. Likely a 50k boost or two during the week will not hurt, but help. Quercetin = What you normally take Both of you should be taking these guys. If not Quercetin, then Benadryl will work great too. Some hospitals are using this protocol now from the little that I have heard and read over the last year. They know that D and Zinc are a huge help. I pray that you both get over it soon! Hugs!!!2 points

yup OXYGEN! 5-8 mins typical abort with an energy drink/heavy caffeine dose "helper". i second the life changer comments.....30 mins is a brutal long time, especially for multi hit days. Zomig nasal spray as last resort abort only...i preferred to ride out the occasional hit(s) when O2 didn't work rather than risk the rebounds from oversue of triptans. ....read the oxygen use files here...important to do it right from the start so you do not get discouraged and figure the very saddest and frequently incorrect phrase in clusterville "O2 doesn't work for me". the basics are: 12-15 lpm flow, a non-rebreather mask, proper technique (hyperventilation reported as most successful, breathe and hold or slow breath worth trying), starting IMMEDIATELY when a hit felt and staying on for 5-10 min after abort, an energy drink/caffeine on way to tank. i kept e tanks at work and in car, m-60 at home. don't let them give you a concentrator... Lol ... I'll smack him and say "that's from spiny" (kidding) I have him on board as his man flu is so bad he is willing to take whatever is suggested...and how nice of your sons neighbors!1 point

That sounds like plain old everyday man behavior, which of course can complicate man flu treatments.1 point

Count me as really sorry to hear this too. I'm not even close to being qualified to comment on the D3, not to mention Vit C and stuff, but @xxx has been quite generously chiming in a lot lately, heck maybe he'll even want to address this topic also.1 point

Sue, A glass of Orange juice is a good way to start the day except for all the Fructose. That said you would need to eat 36 naval oranges a day to get 3 grams of vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid). 1000 mg vitamin C capsules are much less expensive and the powdered bulk vitamin C even less expensive. Watch the video of Linus Pauling explain why we need 6 to 7 grams/day vitamin C to prevent disease and illness. He took 18 grams/day vitamin C. Linus Pauling was 92 when this presentation was recorded. He was awarded 2 individual Nobel Prizes, the first in Chemistry for his papers on Quantum Mechanics and the shape of molecules and the second for Peace for stopping above ground nuclear warhead testing. He had many critics of his recommendation to take 7 grams of vitamin C per day and even more if suffering from a disease. When he died at age 93, he still had two more Nobel Prizes than any of his critics... and, he had outlived most of them. Take care and please keep us posted. V/R, Batch1 point

I second the idea of keeping notes. I think at this point most of us have a routine. Half full of crazy strangeness and the other half honest citizen science. Whatever works for you works for you. My go to is the o2. After that I’ve tried most stuff. Some works, some doesn’t, but that seems mostly individual. I’ve yet to hear of oxygen not working for someone. Not to beat a dead horse, but I’ve gladly paid for oxygen out of pocket. My insurance doesn’t cover it. But it’s super worth it in my book.1 point

These Clusters are a weird animal, what works for some don’t work for others. For example, Immitrex does not work for me as a matter of fact it makes the hit worse. Zomig nasal spray is by the best abortive med I have ever used. The problem is it gives me rebound headaches. Next best is Zomig ZMT. Maxalt MLT only works some of the time. The key is taking these as soon as you get any sign of a hit. I have talked about the rabbit hole that triptans lead me into, at one time I was going through 72 Zomig in 3 months getting hits 3 to 5 days a week. Things just kept getting worse with the triptans. I was at the end of my rope when I found this site and you guys saved my life. Now days I only use triptans when on vacation so that I do not ruin the trip for my wife. After the vacation I have to quit triptans cold turkey and take the hits until they stop. O2 helps. If it works for you use it, just keep in mind that it may make things way worse. Keep notes. Sorry for the run on reply.1 point

Hey Cast Iron, We've seen CH frequency go up when CHers cut back or discontinued verapamil. Good head work sides with the obvious conclusion, If you're following the anti-inflammatory protocol and you're still taking verapamil, it's best to stick with the verapamil dose that keeps CH frequency low. I've spent the last 10 years analyzing data from the online survey of CHers following this protocol to gain control of their CH and hopefully stop them and direct feed back from CHers. What I've concluded is allergic reactions are the single biggest problem that keeps vitamin D3 from doing its thing to control and prevent CH. As allergic reactions kick off large quantities of histamine and histamine to a CHer is like Kryptonite to Superman, bad news. We need to get the allergic reaction under control first to give vitamin D3 and the cofactors a chance to do their thing. The best course of action involves taking 3 grams/day each of Turmeric (Curcumin), Resveratrol, Quercetin and Omega-3 fatty acids. These are the best and most effective natural antihistamines we can take short of a first-generation antihistamine like Benadryl (Diphenhydramine HCL) taken at 25 mg every 4 hours throughout the day. I've also tried a nasal rinse by cupping my hands under warm running water then lowering my nose into the water and inhaling enough water to reach the back of the nasal cavity then blow it out. Keep your head down while doing this to prevent water from running down the back of your throat. 4 to 5 snuffels like this should be sufficient to rinse the area around the Sphenopalatine ganglion or "pterygopalatine ganglion". This is the only ganglion located outside the skull. We have two of them each located on opposite sises of the nasal cavity and they are both connected directly to the trigeminal ganglia on both sides of our brain. Doing this nasal rinse has helped me during the heavy leaf mold spore season. An alternative to this over the sink nose rinse is to buy one of the Navage Nasal Rinse Systems. They're less expensive on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/284619933346?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200818143230%26meid%3D0397482d3fdc444aa0e26ad6e537594f%26pid%3D101224%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D334041507637%26itm%3D284619933346%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWeb%26brand%3DNavage&_trksid=p2047675.c101224.m-1 The thinking behind the nasal rinse is by doing this a few times a week, we wash away any allergens that have accumulated in the nasal mucus membranes around the Sphenopalatine gangiia on you hit side and this lowers the allergic load. These units come with salt pills the make the rinse isotonic in salinity for less irritation. It also helps to take at least 3 grams/day vitamin C. I take 8 grams/day by adding two level teaspoon measures of powdered vitamin C to an 8 oz glass of water. I take gulps throughout the day until it is all gone by bedtime. You may need to increase your vitamin D3 dose and serum 25(OH)D3 concentration. Do this in steps and see your PCP to test regularly for serum 25(OH)D3, calcium and PTH. Take care and please keep us posted, V/R Batch1 point

"I suffer from a rare neurological condition known as trigeminal autonomic cephalgia, commonly called clusters because the painful attacks occur in groups or 'clusters'" No need to use the word headache at all. TAC is what they are and that's the official name by the IHSC. Cat1 point

So my husband and I are both down with the flu/Covid. My question is if I take 10,000 IU a day with an occasional sublingual boost once a week of about 15/20,000 IU should I increase a bit knowing the flu depletes the D? I was sick not 2 long ago so I boosted a bit then 2 but this sickness is so bad that I could hardly walk yesterday as my entire body hurt including my joints. As for my husband he has been in bed all day with a 102 fever. We both take zinc and quercetin and I gave him a 50,000 IU D3 as he has not been taking the D. I had what most people would consider a bad headache and fever yesterday but it has subsided the worst of this seems to be bad body ache .. any info on if I should increase even more would be appreciated!0 points
