  1. Hi Rush. Concerned about panic attacks during a bust? I think everyone here knows exactly what rant I'm about embark upon once again - I'll try to keep it semi-condensed this time: Valium (or Xanax) can prevent those, and it isn't known to mess with the therapeutic aspects of the busting substance. Personally I think of it as insurance against a bad trip, and never leave home bust without it. OK I did try San Pedro Cactus powder for one bust and felt zero anxiety that time, so I skipped the benzo, but for vitamin M or vitamin L I find good old fashioned valium to be the shiznit (many others have reported the same, and it has also long been used in ER rooms for those admitted with bad trips).
  2. I had missed the difference between MindMed and MindMend myself, thanks for the eagle eye Jtiera.
  3. True, you have to be dead to be able to report a permanent end to your cycles, but I know at least one long time CHer for whom the condition appears to have burnt out (no attacks for over 10 years, and no preventative steps taken during that time).
  4. Glad they consulted with Cluster Busters regarding real world doses, lending all the more confidence in the study.
  5. Hmmm.....is it an un-buster? That would be a good question. I have the feeling we'd be left trying to figure that out ourselves for a good while before any psychedelic / ketanserin / CH study would be undertaken.
  6. https://psilocybinalpha.com/news/mindmeds-lsd-neutralizer-study-begins 'MindMed has commenced a study for its “LSD neutralizer technology,” which it hopes will be effective in shortening and even stopping the effects of an LSD trip during LSD assisted therapy sessions. In collaboration with the Liechti Lab at University Hospital Basel, a Phase 1 clinical trial will evaluate the effect of ketanserin for this purpose. MindMed hopes the study will be completed by the end of 2021.'
  7. My Google News feed keeps presenting me with confirmation bias stories on the subject : PsyPost: Rapid antidepressant effects of the psychedelic ayahuasca linked to changes in inflammatory biomarkers.
  8. Volunteering for a study like this is, knowing you may receive a placebo and be subject to some out of control attacks, is nothing short of a heroic act as far as I'm concerned, FunTimes - THANK YOU.
  9. Article: Transforming psychedelics into mainstream medicines "......research has revealed that some psychedelics that activate the serotonin 2A receptor are potently anti-inflammatory at doses unlikely to result in psychoactivity."
  10. I guess time (with more research, more experimentation) will tell. Meantime, there's this from https://www.verywellhealth.com/micro-dose-lsd-5077103: "....People with chronic pain diseases such as fibromyalgia, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis may, according to researchers, benefit from extremely low doses of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD or "acid").."
  11. I'll suggest those of us in busting mode could start thinking about and noting whether we've experienced other anti-inflammatory benefits. This could just be coincidence, and an account from one lone dude is as anecdotal as it gets, but personally I'm slap-happy to report that following the past couple busts, I've had inflammation symptoms such as lower back pain go poof.
  12. Drewbie, I'm going to guess here that you are actually NOT "one biological flick of a switch away from full blown cCH", but of course I realize strong anxiety can make it convincingly feel like you are. Besides encouraging you to continue to rigorously adhere to the D3 regimen, I'll just repeat what I've reported in other threads in this forum, even though busting may not be advisable, and could present sourcing challenges for you: I found busting not only helped quash some entire CH cycles for me, but it long term quashed my CH related PTSD-like symptoms (basically anxiety/fear/dread). Ironically during some of my busting sessions, I experienced very heightened anxiety, so I now advocate a diazepam type tranquilizer while busting for anyone prone to anxiety (but not such medication for daily non-busting induced anxiety). And for a good while now there have been the reports like this about how A single dose of the psychedelic compound found in so-called magic mushrooms has eased anxiety and depression for a group of cancer patients for more than four years. Not that we are cancer patients. You mentioned how exceptionally physically active and fit you were prior to this difficult bout - since exercise is also really supposed to be good for relieving anxiety, I hope you can find a way to get back to it soon and start enjoying its benefits again. FWIW there's also this bit I found interesting about a new testosterone spray to treat anxiety disorders. All this said, if I was facing an unrelenting bout with imitrex effectiveness waning, I'd have to assume I'd find myself right back in the heavy dread zone. Sorry to hear your nerve block was delayed this time around, with things going full blown while waiting, but glad to hear that at least the nerve block has had some real effectiveness.
  13. And drewbie, completely agreed with your take on the subject too.
  14. Excellent elucidation of this BOL spectacle and all the nutty baloney surrounding it CHfather, thank you.
  15. Whoa - wouldn't that be incredible if someone was actually able to get BOL-148 fully approved, manufactured and available for prescription? For that matter over the counter availability would be fine with me . To see this non-hallucinogenic version of LSD, reputedly much more effective for CH, finally become available could be such a game changer, and such a longer than lonnnnnng time coming after it it's promise has been known for so many years, with the maddening (and then some) history of false starts.
  16. I was kind of going off topic a bit over at DMT - First time finding an effective abortive, so I'm moving my tangent touting psychedlics as anti-inflammatories over here. If I understand correctly, the anti-inflammatory effect of psychedelics is thought to be mediated through the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor. Article - Psychedelics as Anti-Inflammatory Agents Article - "Research has shown that psychedelics, such as lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), have profound anti-inflammatory properties" Article - Scientists identify a powerful anti-inflammatory compound in psychedelic drugs
  17. Hi A-Z, I remember reading way back that benzo withdrawals can cause severe suicidal depression, not sure if the source was scientifically legit or what though. Plus it sounds like you're pretty much over the benzo withdrawal side effects by now. Modern day cannabis, bred to be super strong, gives me anxiety and some paranoia, so I don't imbibe. Not sure if it's just a change in my biochemistry or what, but the old, much milder, 70's style cheap "commercial" weed in California never triggered any of that for me. Quite the opposite, in fact, it was relaxing and mellowing. The following are not suggestions so much as stuff I find interesting on the subjects in this thread: Depression: I was going through a questioning existence phase there for a bit. Mighta just been mid-life crisis that was about to end anyway, but around that time I started (successfully) busting with vitamin M for CH, and it not only removed my CH related PTSD-like symptoms, but I also found myself in a better, non existential crisis sort of head space. Of course it's all over the news as of late about psilocybin treatment for depression, and for someone in Oregon, or who could go there, I find the whole thing about Oregon will become the first state to formally legalize the medical use of psilocybin to treat mental health conditions in licensed facilities using registered therapists interesting and encouraging. I'm already thinking about trying to get a relative to head there for such treatment when available and possible. I would stop short of encouraging people to try to wing it with DIY psilocybin for depression therapy though. Panic attacks: I have to wonder if the cannabis could really be a culprit 15 days after the fact? Meantime I found this bit about a new testosterone spray to kill panic attacks seriously intriguing. It sure sounds to me (someone who doesn't even resemble a doctor) like you've experienced some manner of lasting biochemical imbalance induced by a substance intended to be therapeutic for CH, that you can and will regain the balance you were enjoying previously, at which point you'll be so over these side effects, and will be golden.
  18. My only experience with running and CH involved bursting into an all out sprint (or rapid running in place) in an occasionally successful attempt to abort an impending attack. It really only worked a couple times for me when I was in the less intense initial part of a cycle though, it's level of effectiveness for me was similar to breathing freezing cold air.
  19. Kat I'd suggest it doesn't almost seem like you need a headache specialist type neuro as opposed to the garden variety type, more like you definitely do, based on your experience and that of zillions of other CHers.
  20. Vader, I hope in your research you've at least become encouraged that there are treatments for CH, such as are outlined in CHfather's overview link, and also touched on by FunTimes above. Some of us really do find significant relief, and while there can be a bit of luck involved regarding who is going to respond to what, my money is on you finding your way there too.
  21. +1 for what an excellent and moving video that is.
  22. I guess you could say sleep is an extremely common trigger, maybe number one. From my personal experience and what I've seen others mention, I'd say alcohol is way up there too. I still tend to believe that some can age out of CH, especially after having seen an extensive long running survey (Scandinavian I think) years ago, where this was tracked and "confirmed", but how many of those who have aged out and haven't had a cycle for at least a decade are likely to seek out an online message board to discuss it? So far I think it's been zero. Actually I guess you never really know you've 100% aged out for sure until you're dead, right!!?? In the highly anecdotal realm I did meet a retired law enforcement officer CH'er, 60+ years of age, who was planning to bust with psilocybin if another cycle were to ever hit, but it had been 10 years since his last cycle and he felt there was a strong chance he had aged out.
  23. Ugh. Sorry to hear this about your CH'er Anita. I'm aware of rare instances where a pred burst has knocked a cycle out, but all too often following some days of relief from a burst, the CH comes back with a vengeance, something I've personally experienced and seen many others also report. Hoping you both can escape the war zone ASAP and find some peace.
  24. Jimmy, I believe Twisted-M makes a valid point, in that those of us who've spent years on end observing, discussing and experimenting with CH treatments have seen certain ones have proven to be most effective and work for an impressive percentage of headbangers, and the magic, AKA "psilocybin busting", T-M speaks of is known to be a powerful preventive, the most effective preventive for plenty of us. I'll personally vouch for it's effectiveness, as could thousands of others at this point I believe. With you right on the verge of a cycle coming to an end (I'm hoping!), I'm not sure whether you could get set up with it before the CH is gone, but I think it's something to keep high on the radar in general, while also keeping in mind the contra-indications regarding family history of schizophrenia, etc. Now RC (Rivea Corymbosa) seeds, a psychoactively milder busting substance, are legal to quickly purchase online and to possess, but not ingest, and some have had success with them.
