Howdee John, Here's to you finding large quantities of PF time ASAP.
-
"Hind sight". ;D That's actually a good one.
-
I second the belly fat location for injection - pinch a little to the side of the navel, inject there, and you have the easiest and most painless spot IMO. Are you aware of the imitrex tip that details how to abort 2 to 3 CH hits with one 6 mg injector's worth of imitrex? Here's the link: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/imitrex.html

Happy B. Day you 6 string maniac you! May this day bring you a '59 burst. 8-)
-
I think I can field this question. It is in San Diego, which sports the mildest climate in the continental US. Pretty paradisey-ish. 8-)

Glad to hear it's working for you so far Tingeling, and glad to hear it's not needed right now for your hubsky, Angel!

I haven't tried the pH thing - although I wish I would've been smart enough to during my last episode when O2 wasn't aborting all of my night time hits, and if the beast comes knocking again, I'll certainly give it a go.

Here's a quote from one of Batch's posts at the CH.com forum (he's an O2 guru over there) where he details the recipe: "....when I go into a high cycle, I take 3 to 4 calcium citrate tablets with vitamin D, magnesium and zinc washed down with fresh homemade lemonade. This regimen acts as a buffer on the gastric juices in the stomach with the ultimate result, an elevation in arterial pH as measured with pH test strips that show my saliva pH has risen... This regimen also breaks my high cycles in 12 to 24 hours... Hope this helps." He considers an elevated arterial pH to really help the O2 do it's thing. Here's the link to the full thread this came from where he supplies charts and the whole nine yards (you'll find his post with his characteristic giant font at the bottom of the thread): http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1276030335/3 [Edit: and here's some more specific pH supplement info from another Batch thread]: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1278624142/6 "I take the Kirkland™ brand calcium citrate tablets that also contain vitamin D, magnesium and zinc all in one tablet. I get them at Costco... If you can't get to Costco, you can get the same basic formula by taking Citracal Plus Bone Density Builder™ tablets. Most food stores carry them."

What David said. Since the O2 didn't work on those K7's I wonder if he'll want to try Batch's PH optimization recipe (I can dig it up if you don't have it), which is purported to allow the O2 to be more effective? Or maybe an energy drink along with the O2 for the same reason? (sorry if we've covered that and I've forgotten). As far as sleep is concerned, how about the Melatonin? I just saw for the first time over on CH.com that people are going as high as 18 mg for the nightly dose, with one responder saying melatonin never did anything for him until he got to 15 mg, then it started preventing the night time hits. I'm not sure whether melatonin is supposed to conflict with mushrooms at all - I know that my little 3 mg nightly melatonin dose didn't prevent 1.5 G of mushrooms from coming on strong and knocking me for a good loop.Â

Well very glad to hear that Xeno has the credibility and is serious, because this sounds like it could be a godsend for some CH'ers.

It's high cycle time of year now for CHRONICS too!
Bejeeber replied to Bejeeber's topic in General Board
Sounds probable to me too. -
When living in San Diego without health insurance I used to pop over the border in Tijuana to get much cheaper imitrex injections without prescription (Imigran, it's the same exact thing). Anyway, the treatment center you describe sounds WAY better than that!! I didn't realize mushrooms are legal there - are they commercially available for purchase? Not that anyone would want to try to cross back over the border to the US with them in their possession - but I suppose a crazy plan for the very desperate could be to ingest some right before crossing back over the border, and have a designated driver take you home? Back to your concept - it sounds kind of like cluster heaven - low cost, a beautiful mansion, mushrooms, O2, all the CH drugs. There will naturally be some skepticism, as in "is this too good to be true?" from some of us, but I'm sure there will be interest, and I for one hope it isn't too good to be true. Would love to hear more background on you and the treatment center concept.

I've been reading an interesting topic over at CH.com, and it made me wonder if the current stubbornness of some the worst chronic cases people are reporting here [bonkers, Angel's Hubby] could have something to do with the time of year and how it affects the hypothalamus (of chronics too!) Here are some of the details as supplied by the very credible source of Linda Howell (long time chronic, and moderator at CH.com): Re: Interesting thing said to me today Reply #2 - Yesterday at 6:15pm  it's been long thought that the change of seasons, especially Spring and Fall are the times when folks go into cycle or for those who are chronic...High cycle. Circadiem rhythm and all that. I know that Family services gets a LOT more calls for help in the Spring and Fall and then slacks off over the winter and Summer. The Hypothalmus is said to react to the seasons, so it;'s not so weird at all. days getting shorter or days getting longer tend to throw it into high gear. Oh yeah..we do! Every other chronic I've talked to says they get it too.

3 K10s at night since - oh man that's horrible. > Personally, I doubt that 30 RC seeds alone would have much effect for him at this stage, but I'll be interested to see if anyone on here thinks different. I'm going by my own experience with mild acting RC, and thinking of the report from severe chronic Bonkers who found that (if I remember correctly) RC did nothing.
-
Hey Fast Eddie, I hope you'll share details of your success story here - like maybe on the "Share Your Busting Stories" forum. That's something that can reach and help a lot of other CH'ers.
-
Very VERY sorry to hear about those K10's Angel. > Clustermom - strange and interesting that higher doses have provided lesser results so far. Seems counterintuitive, but if this is found to be generally true for CH'ers, I suppose it would be kind of a good thing that people wouldn't have to feel that best results require heavy tripping....
-
Well that elevates Dr. Halpern to sainthood in my book. I suppose there are probably some indigenous tribes still left in the Americas that haven't had this medicine (and their culture) taken from them....yet..... and at least they're covered for CH for now.....?
-
Yes I would think a CH would be triggered within a few hours at the most, so I'm guessing your hubby is at least lucky about the beer thing and that it is not a trigger for him at this time. 8-) I had a couple beers once during an episode and it near blew my head off. - an old timer regarding conventional CH meds, still a bit n00b with the busting
-
Does that mean Denny looks like Popeye? ;D
-
It sure does - hey have y'all considered forming a biker gang? ;D There's not a person there who wouldn't look impressive in a leather jacket rolling down the road on a chopper. 8-) Great to see a pic and looking forward to some more!Â
-
Oh man, sorry to hear about that most unwelcome trio of K10s. > I'm guessing yes on the shrooms'n seeds combo, and no on the shroom aborts, but this should be addressed with more authority by some of the more knowledgeable folks here, so I'm bumpin' this back to the top.
-
Yeah we know what "not having a very good day" means for Michael, so that part blows mightily. > Here's hoping he gets past that QUICK, and count me in as lookin' forward to those pics.

Happy BEE day! [smiley=birthdays.gif] [smiley=birthdays.gif]

LOL listening to that JP Colorado Kool-Aid - Oh man I've never heard that before in my sheltered existence. ;D Hey wasn't smuggling Coors across state lines what Smokey and the Bandit was about? So was that based on the true story of your dad Johnny? ;D

Shaggy - Native American flute music - why didn't I thinka that??!! :-? Got any particular collection of those flute tootings you'd recommend?
