  1. Hi Eli. Unfortunately most doctors don't understand Clusters, including many Neurologists! Many years ago I was told NOT to take Birth Control because of migraines. And i was also told that women did not get Clusters as well. Well, how wrong that was!!! Many doctors need educating on Clusters. I did HRT with no issue regarding my Clusters. Perhaps let your Gyno know that Clusters are NOT migraines, but are often treated the same because they don't have 'meds' for Clusters, just hand-me-downs from migraine patients. He should let you do a trial run at least. You might get more hits and likely you won't see any change in your head, but the 'other' will be helped immensely! Best of luck! And have you tried O2 using the proper flow rate and mask so that it actually does something? Or were you handed a script and sent on your way with no instructions? It makes a huge difference!!
  2. In addition to the 2 every 24 hours, there is the insurance to deal with. Often they will only 'allow' 9 or 12 a month! So, you might want to check on that so he is not in for a shock when a refill is denied. ATB!
  3. I had fever and was very tired after the second jab. No hits for either one fortunately. I did wait until I was well past my 'normal' cycle for a few months. I don't know for sure, but most of what I have read said 'no problem'. Did he begin another 'cycle' or experience 2-3 hits after the shot and then it quit? As in, he had a rogue hit or three?
  4. Vipul, do not let him talk you into the pills!!! Those are for Migraines, not Clusters. They take too long to work to be of any help for most.
  5. You do what you have to do. The short acting seems to work better for many. I do the D3 myself, but the first time I tried it, I was unsuccessful. The next try, it worked. I suspect that is because I stayed on it year round that time, rather than trying to load up before cycle or during one.
  6. They have not caused those problems for me. I was able to nap during the day for several years prior to it becoming a trigger. It did not extend or worsen my cycle, but gave me an extra hour of sleep every 24 hours. The two the I got from 6am to 8am were not sufficient to keep me going for long. After they became a trigger, I weighed the cost and decided based on how I felt that day. With naps, cycle was 6 months. Without naps, cycle was 6 months. ATB!
  7. My one experience drinking during a cycle was not a good one. It was Christmas and I had a glass of wine with family. Bad call for me!! I wound up in the bedroom huffing O2, with little recollection of the evening after the hit. But, you will never know till you try it yourself. I was in remission from that cycle when I tried the wine. Fortunately went back into remission after the one hit!
  8. Have you tried adding Benadryl or Quercitin (spelling?) to the D3 Regimen? Pollen season and all, I would suspect allergies to be playing into your situation more than dropping the SSRI. The antihistamine could very well help!! I stuck with the Benadryl as I have taken it for allergies for years. Sorry for the late response!! Sort of covered up for a few days.
  9. Sorry that I missed this Archimedes. The only sure thing that I can say from my viewpoint is that if it is kicking off a cycle by dropping it, I would wait till a 'safe' time. IE, one where I have never had a cycle. I try not to change anything if it is time for my cycle. Don't rock that boat is my mantra! I do see where it is normal to take a month to get off of Zoloft and the side effects can be tough. Some take 6-8 weeks to get completely off of it and minimize the withdrawal symptoms.. So, your decision to go more slowly is logical and used medically as well. The drug has a short half life, so worse withdrawal. And one 'side effect' is, you guessed it, headache!
  10. Hi Matthew. I am not aware if anyone trying this. I highly suspect that there are different ingredients in the nasal vs the injection. So, I doubt that it would be a good thing to try!!!! You could spend some time on the Net to see what are the ingredients of each. They likely are rather different due to the method of administration at the very least. Please, take care! What else are you doing for your CH? O2? Energy drinks? Are you Episodic? Have you tried the D3 Regimen? ATB!
  11. Hey tmac, I don't think that working out would deplete your D3, but I am hardly an expert! In addition, you are taking a lot of it daily. When was your last blood work to check your level of D3? I definitely recommend that you have a blood draw to check your D at a minimum. Exercise helps some with their hits and makes them worse for others. Just the luck of the draw I think. But, it sounds like this is a recent change for you. So, I stand by, get a blood test and see where your D currently stands. You can order one from Lab Corp in many states yourself and it is pretty cheap. ATB!
  12. Very well stated Jteira! From my reading, microdosing would be about 0.1 to 0.3 grams, yes? Therapeutic is 1 gram and above.
  13. That is wonderful!! Thanks for sharing this with the group.
  14. This is one of Batchs' first papers on D3. I take the vitamins pictured there, along with Benadryl in pollen season. Adding the B vitamins is good for many, but I cannot take it so did not add it. He should do the loading. You can order a D3 Test to take at home I think. Or at Lab Corp perhaps. I don't think a doctors order is needed. The paper is quite long, but contains good info if it peaks your interest. ATB! https://vitamindwiki.com/tiki-download_wiki_attachment.php?attId=7708
  15. Personally, I wait two weeks after I attain pain free status to do 'the beer test'. If there are any shadows, I don't partake. But, when my cycle is over, I can imbibe all that I want to!
  16. Relief is often felt within 2-3 weeks. Please list the vitamins that you are taking. How much did you 'load'? Or are you just taking 20k of D3 daily? The K is important. Adding Benadryl helps many this time of year with pollen rates rising.
  17. Hey Mitch! Dallas Denny had one shot while in cycle and became PF for four days! I am out of cycle and it did not cause any problems for me. ATB!
  18. Awesome trjones!! Let us know how it goes please? This could be a wonderful new way for CHers to get assistance!
  19. Welcome John! I fixed it for you. Sounds like a rough mess with COVID in the mix! I too wonder how others have fared! Perhaps the move will help with responses.
  20. Bejeeber is correct. A check for HC seems to be in order since you have no pain free time between hits. Indo. can be hard on your stomach, but provides great relief. I would suggest getting in touch with you neuro to do a test run with it to see if it helps! Fingers crossed for you!!!
  21. I have 15 minutes between hits. So, that gives me a time frame for the O2. I suspect that you get a hit that ramps up and back down again? When it ramps down I suspect that you will a short period that is about as pain free as you get and then it goes up again. I would down the energy drink or caffeine then and hit the O2. I start at onset, you would start at minimum to see if that works. Jon's input is solid, so read and use that info too!!! As you learn to work it, you will learn the methods that work best for you. The objective is to get the CO2 out of your body and pure O2 into it. So, exhale with a crunch at the end when you begin, then inhale your O2. Ditch the CO2 is the objective I suppose you might say. ATB!
  22. With the O2, D3, and caffeine, he should be in for some relief. Those are the main 'go-to's' for most CHer's. Please understand that O2 kills the current hit. It does not prevent the next one. It is going to come on schedule. That does not mean the O2 is not working, just that it kills one but does not prevent the next one. If he is nocturnal, then sleeping partially reclined in a recliner helps a lot of people. You keep your head above your heart and it helps. Also makes waking with the next hit faster and therefore easier to abort. The D3 can take up to 2 weeks to feel the relief. It lowers the pain level and slows the ramps up, thereby making dealing with a hit easier. For many, it prevents cycles from coming at all!!! Pretty amazing. Caffeine is something that he should keep with him at all times! Many prefer the Energy Drinks cold and use the little shots of them.. I use iced coffee because the drinks turn my stomach. If you want to discuss busting, then you could begin a new thread in Theory & Implementation or Share your Busting Stories threads. Those are members only area's of the board.
  23. Hi Lstetse and welcome. I am not familiar with the Olsen, but doing a quick search, there are many of them!! Which one do you have? And describe 'doesn't fit' please. Is the 1/2 too big and the 1/4 too small? That will give us more info to go on and help you! Please read the blue banner at the top of the page. It contains a lot of info for new members that you will find helpful. What meds is your husband taking now? Some do not play well with MM. In addition, it is the standard to wait 5 days between busts. I am not sure if you meant with the busting info. Did he bust one day and then do it again the next day? Or add more MM to the first bust? What happened post bust? How did you determine that it did not work? O2 should be his best friend! We don't recommend busting without it if possible, due to painful 'slapbacks' post dose!! Be aware that we love our supporters here!!! They are heroes for helping Clusterheads! ATB!
  24. It is quite the read Pebbles. And it supports my experience of not seeing microdosing as a way to kill a cycle to date. Much talk at times, but not much in the way of 'It worked for me'!!! Interesting info on the placebo effect!
  25. I would not suspect the D3 Regimen was upset by a slapback. While it might not kill this cycle, the regimen will make hits lighter, easier, and slower to ramp up. It could very possibly prevent the next cycle though if your D3 levels are in the upper range needed. ATB!
