CH, treatment, relations and impact on life
ThatHurtsMyHead replied to tingeling's topic in General Board
Ting, You deserve the best!!! Sometimes it takes stepping out to get it.. Cheers, I'm rooting for you and your daughter! You've got friends in Florida, USA! And a seat on a sailboat anytime you want to stop by. Your Friend, Jeff -
Cheers Bob!!!! I'll be meeting you in Vegas!!! Jeff

Oscar, I didn't see your post sooner as I rarely frequent the research topic. As you can see from my avitar I'm an avid diver. I'm normally underwater for 10 to 12 drops a month. When in cycle I do get hit when surfacing from dives. I no longer dive when in cycle (which I'm happy to say my diving has been unafected by my CH since starting busting!). If you do decide to dive, I'd recommend both having your O2 near by for after your dive AND diving nitrox as I would think the increased O2 at depth might help reduce your CH attack if you were to get one upon surfacing. BusyMex4, All of your symptoms sound like Clusters to me.. Sorry you might be in the club, but good news is you found this site! Many of us went years and years without a correct diagnosis. Don't blow your kidneys out with tylenol or similar pain meds as they don't work for us. There is a list of symptoms for CH on wikipedia I think has a good list. Might want to print it out and take to your doctor. DEMAND from him a script for 100% Oxygen therapy. It's the #1 best, easiest, safest attack abortive that has no side effects! (of course the big pharma companies don't make a dime so lots of doctors don't like presribing it... They'd rather give you a bunch of cr@p that doesn't work to "Try" first).. ok off my soap box.. Pain Free Wishes my friend (PFW), Jeff

Ting, I'm so so so happy you have your life back. It's a shame everyone with CH doesn't have the ability, knowledge, understanding or acceptance to use the busting medicines... Vitamin M surely is a medicine. So much pain could be alleviated and lives returned like yours, across the globe... I look forward to meeting you some day. Continued PFW, Jeff

Hmmm Propofol hu? Can I get that at Wallgreens? ;D ;D ;D Jeff

Head trauma here as well. US Army. Started a few months after a head injury. I remember the first attack clear as a bell. Was getting ready for a room inspection and it started. The pain got worse and worse till my roommate called our platoon sergant. He took one look at me and ordered me to report to the emergency room. Good old uncle sam. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and given antibiotics... Didn't help right away but for some reason a few weeks later the headaches stopped. ha.. Jeff

Whooligun, Try a few drops of mint extract in the water as they soak. Makes them MUCH easier to get down. PFW, Jeff

Mystina, I may have missed you before going to the procedure, but best wishes to you and I'm sending good vibes for a quick and painless procedure. PFW, Jeff

Did "suicide headaches" claim another life?

I'm so sad he wasn't able to find this board.... He's pain free now. RIP Frank Delessio Jeff -
Brew, Cheers. Spot on!!! Jeff

Moxie, Spiny, My beast has always made me an angry person when he comes around. Don't know if it's something in the brain he's messing with, lack of sleep or just dealing with the pain, but when he comes around my personality takes a nose dive... You two need to come spend some time on a sailboat in Florida. No where to go, not getten there fast anyway, and no one in the way .. That said, I'm a much better person now after busting. DEFINITELY... PFW, Jeff

I was contemplating the exact same thing..  The more collective information we have on patterns the better. Might want to add chocolate for triggers as that's a fairly common one. Also fermented cheeses (blue cheese, swiss etc) About forgot but didn't get put in the survey. Poptarts are also a trigger for me. Jeff

Spiny, That $uck$. Sorry to hear he's getting them. Maybe just a fluke. We all can only hope. I concur, at least you can put him on a successful path, and not let him go down the witch doctor path of "here try this"... I cringe at all the useless cr@p doctors put in my body over the years. Ricardo, Thanks for sharing that link. Definitely worth a watch for anyone interested. Jeff

LMAO.... Jeff

Excellent illustration! Jeff

Concur with Jeebs... Hot is bad for me, Cold is good. Face into a large blasting window A/C unit a few times really helped reduce the pain / length of attacks. Jeff

Awesome Renee!!!! I'm happy for both your Pain Free time and also for reconnecting with your daughter! PFW, Jeff

I want mine!!!! PFW, Jeff

Crystal, Monster in the blue can (low sugar) +++ Definitely helps. Once you get your O2, it even works better (slam 1/2 monster then hit the O2, then back to the other 1/2 monster). = STILL sleep like a rock once the attack passes no matter the time of night. The post attack exhaustion seems to override any amount of caffeine for me anyway. PF Wishes, Jeff

Guido, You may also find as a side effect, to not need the prozac any longer. Many of us find a significant mood uplift after busting. I think the jury is out as if it's because of the psychedelics, the beast leaving, or the return to real sleep (or combination of all the above!)  I'm one step away from back flips as compared to my personality three years ago. PF Wishes My Friend, Jeff

I did use my old dehydrator once, and while I don't know the strength of the vitamin M before drying, they were somewhat weaker than I had expected. (but still worked) Better solution: baking pan with paper towls, lay out your M and either lay under a ceiling fan or use a small fan on low. Takes about 2 days for cracker dry. Then you'll want to put into a container with dessicant to ensure they're completely dried out. The dehydrator was about 12 hours, but the heat likely did cause some M degradation. PFW, Jeff
